Many of you have been following along with and been very supportive of my diet struggles and triumphs over the past few months. For those of you new to the story, I have been doing the Medifast Go! program since October. I have lost weight and clothing sizes. I had many pieces in my closet that have become too big for me, so I donated those and replaced them with cool new clothes. 🙂 With the holidays, admittedly I struggled a little, but overall, I feel like I have done really well on the program. So, today, I want to share my New Year Resolutions with you and I would love to read about yours, too.

My New Year Resolutions

In the new year, my overall goal is to be a happier, healthier person. I feel like my New Year Resolutions reflect that.

1. Go To The GymI was walking a lot [3-5 miles a day], and the weight was coming off faster. But then it got cold and I basically stopped walking. So, a few days ago I joined a gym. And this morning, I started the day at the gym. I would like to make a goal of at least 5 visits to the gym a week for this year. I really did enjoy the walks, and both the physical and mental effects, so I hope to start that back up in the spring, too.

2. Read More – I used to read a lot. Like, I have read probably thousands of books. But a few years ago, I kind of stopped. It just seemed so hard to pay attention and more difficult to read. I realized earlier this year that I had an eye issue and got glasses, so I am hoping to get back into reading this year. My goal is pretty simple. I would like to commit to reading at least one book a month. I don’t feel that is particularly difficult, so I should be able to keep it. Now to decide on what to read…

3. Rid My Life Of Toxic People – Over the years I have cut a few people out of my life. I used to be kind of a people pleaser and that got me into some less than stellar relationships. I also am a sucker for an apology and a sob story. And, in the past, I have tried so hard to hold on to people who just weren’t good for me. I am not really about that life anymore. I will give someone multiple chances still, and it might take me a while, but once I am finally done, I am done.

4. Lose The Weight – I like to think that I have most of my stuff together. I have a fun job, great friends, a nice place to live. But the weight, though. That has always been the fat monkey on my back. Over the past few years, I have lost a pretty significant amount of weight, much of that with Medifast Go! in just the past few months. I want to continue that momentum into the new year and finally reach a healthy life for perhaps the first time in my adult life.
