I am 40. By now, I really do have a lot of my stuff together, so to speak. I am relatively mature, totally dependent upon who you ask, of course. 😉 I have what I consider to be the best job in the world – one in which I get to travel often and see and do things that I never would have been able to see and do otherwise. I finally finished my college degree a few years ago after working on it for several years. I raised a beautiful, funny and smart daughter and I am happy. Well, I am happy for the most part. But there is this one thing that has always been a monkey on my back. And that one thing is my lifelong inability to reach my goal weight.
I’m 40 – It’s Time To Get My Shizz Together
I generally feel pretty good about myself. I mean, I have my bad days like everyone else but, typically, I am relatively happy with how my life is going. I do feel like I have worked hard to get to where I am and that makes me proud of myself. I have also been losing weight slowly over the past few years. And I have been able to keep it off. I have only been able to do that by making better choices. But let me tell you, it has been a slow process. Slooooooooooooooow. And I have lost nowhere near as much as I would like to lose in total. Since I’d like to reach my goal weight sometime before I am 75, I think now is the perfect time to bring in reinforcements.
For the next 3 months, I will be partnering with Medifast. I will be doing the Medifast Go! program in order to help me reach my weight loss goals. What I am really excited about is how easy Medifast has made it for me. A few days ago, 30 days of meals were delivered right to my door, so I didn’t really have to worry about the decision making process. Because we all know that overeaters make the best decisions [*total sideeye at myself on that one*].
Starting The Journey To Reaching My Goal Weight
So let’s get real. My goal is to lose 30 pounds in 3 months. I feel like I can do that, especially if you guys are cheering me on *hint, hint*. I am a little nervous [super public accountability, people] but mostly really excited to see how this will go for me. I am also rooting for the other bloggers chosen for this program and look forward to following along with their stories, as well. And, most importantly, I am so grateful for this opportunity.
I am tired of taking photography that only includes my face. I am tired of strategically positioning a camera to get the best picture. I want to feel like I look hot, people! Not for guys. For myself. If some guy doesn’t like the way I look, he can totally kiss it. 😉
And, most importantly, I want to be as healthy as I can be and live my best life possible.
So, I’ll be sharing before and after pictures with you a little later when I can get that “wow!” factor. Oooooh, aaaaah! You guys know how I roll. 😉 For now, I am really happy to share my journey with you and let you guys hold me accountable. I hope that I can even inspire some of you to join in this new adventure with me. Life is better shared, right?

What Workouts Do You Suggest?
So, I want to start a workout program to compliment this program. I want something that I can do anywhere and don’t necessarily have to buy special equipment for. I’m cheap, remember? What do you suggest? What are your favorite exercises? I would love to hear about them in the comments below.
