Salsa Chicken Fajitas Recipe with Colorful Grilled PeppersCheap Is The New Classy

Recently I became part of the #SaveALotInsiders. What this means is that I will get to find out about new and cool things going on at Save-A-Lot. And I will get to share these things with you. One of those things is that Save-A-Lot is now selling Dove and Suave products. I love both of these brands so I made sure to pick some up – at a nice price. Because of the money I saved on these and other products at Save-A-Lot, I was able to make this taste Salsa Chicken of those things is

Salsa Chicken Fajita Recipe With Grilled Peppers

Ingredients…
3-4 chicken breasts {cut in strips}
your favorite salsa {we used homemade}
variety of peppers {we used 1 each of green, yellow, orange and red}
8-10 flat tortillas

Note: You can get the chicken breasts or strips at Save-A-Lot, often in the 5 for $20 deal.

Salsa Chicken Fajitas Recipe with Colorful Grilled Peppers

Preparation…
Punch holes in the chicken breast to allow the salsa to penetrate and add flavor to the chicken. You may want to marinate it, but we didn’t.

Next, spray the skillet with cooking spray, then add the chicken breasts and salsa to the skillet and cover.

Cook on medium/low heat for about an hour. Check to make sure the chicken is done. Next, turn the heat down to low and cook another 15 minutes to allow the salsa flavor to mix more with the chicken.

To grill the peppers, cut them into strips or cubes, however you prefer, and wrap them up in aluminum foil. Place on the grill on medium heat for about 15 minutes.

Serve by adding the chicken strips to your tortillas and then spoon more salsa on them. Add the peppers and then wrap the tortilla around the ingredients and secure with a toothpick. If you like, feel free to add cheese, onion, sour cream, guacamole or other toppings. Serve hot. This will make at least 8-10 fajitas.
