We love smoothies in this household and I am a lucky woman. My husband makes them for me all the time. He doesn’t love watermelon, though, and I do – but I don’t want to buy a whole watermelon, so I find that this Minty Watermelon Smoothie Recipe is a great way for me to still enjoy one of my favorite fruits, watermelon. I know it always gets my morning started right. Let’s see if you agree. 🙂
Minty Watermelon Smoothie Recipe
You Will Need…
2 cups chopped, seedless watermelon*
2 cups strawberries {we used frozen but you can use fresh if you like}
1 banana {we used fresh but you can use frozen if you like}
5 sprigs fresh mint
1 cup filtered water
*I buy a personal watermelon and cut it up so that I can make a few smoothies out of it. However, I find that you can buy watermelon already cut up in the produce section of your grocery store. That will save you a lot of time if you aren’t about cutting up a watermelon.
To Prepare…
1. In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth. Serve immediately.
Now that’s my kind of recipe. 😉
This is one of my favorite smoothie recipes of any that I have ever tried. For those who aren’t crazy about mint, it also isn’t really minty, you just get the coolness in your breath from it, if that makes sense. I love it the way it is, but I also might try adding more mint to it on occasion.
As I said, I love watermelon and my husband does not, so I find that if I buy a personal watermelon, that I can make a few of these smoothies and get my watermelon fix without wasting any. Also, I don’t have to worry about trying to snarf down a whole watermelon myself, lol.
This recipe was excerpted from Juice Guru, by Steve and Julie Prussack. There are a ton of really great recipes in this recipe compilation and it’s one of my favorites.

Strawberries and watermelon are two of my favorite fruits, so a smoothie containing both sounds delightful. I like the addition of the mint to really bring out the flavors of the fruit.
