Beverly Hills 90210 – Give Me a Movie Already!

August 9, 2012 by Dawn McAlexander

Beverly Hills 90210 {The Coolest Zip Code} ~

While skipping through commercials on my DVR yesterday, I noticed a familiar face – Andrea Zuckerman! Anyone else remember her besides me? That super smart girl on Beverly Hills 90210 that never could seem to get the nerve to tell Brandon Walsh that she was in love with him. Gosh, I loved her and him and always hoped that she would somehow end up with him.

“I love the new girl’s outfit, and I love you,” Andrea {Gabrielle Carteris} flusters in this Old Navy Ad. Brandon Walsh’s {aka Jason Priestley} “WHaaat!” face kills me!

Oh, but Kelly Taylor was, of course, the one that Brandon wanted. Those darn blondes. Then I realized there is also this commercial…

As always, Kelly {Jennie Garth} can’t choose between Brandon and Dylan {Luke Perry}. *Pick Brandon!!!*

So, why can’t there be a Beverly Hills 90210 Reunion? A Sex and the City-ish revisit via mega movie? Let’s see, the show aired for 10 years with several successful spin offs {Melrose Place, 90210, etc.} so, there is obviously still interest, since one of the shows is pretty new. Several of the original 90210’s characters have also made appearances in the new 90210 {Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and Shannen Doherty, all reprising their old roles}. If the Old Navy commercials and the 90210 appearances are any indication, several of the cast members don’t seem to mind revisiting their old parts either.

Are Brenda and Dylan together? Is Brenda still a royal pain in the arse? Are Donna and David still together {there was a breakup alluded to in the spin-off, 90210}? And how in the heck did Kelly Taylor become a guidance counselor {as she was portrayed as in her role in the spin-off, 90210}. I am not so sure that our youth should be taking advice from Kelly Taylor – but at least it’s not Brenda! With the inception of 90210, I have even more questions about it’s predecessor, Beverly Hills 90210. Oh, Beverly Hills 90210 cast mates – you have been toying with me for a few years now and it’s time to call your bluff. Besides commercials and reality TV, I am not really sure what any of the former stars are doing right now. And reality TV can definitely follow you to other jobs, ask Gene Simmons. I think that there is no time like the present to do a movie. 🙂

Andrea was on the Event for a couple episodes when it was on! I loved 90210 until they got older and then I quit watching it. Never the same without Brenda.

Brenda did bring a lot of spice to the show. I always loved Steve and Brandon. 🙂 Ah… I never saw the Event…not even sure what that is. Was Andrea good on it?

The Event was about these aliens who had landed in Alaska in the 40’s and never aged and some were captured and living there still but others were just living their lives as humans. It was cool, but it got cancelled 🙁 Like all the good shows! Andrea kinda just had a bit part, but she was good. She always was one of the better actors on 90210.

You are right. The good shows do get cancelled. I am still fuming over The Firm getting cancelled! That does sound like an interesting show. 🙂 And yes, there were some actors on Beverly Hills 90210 that were far better than the others, lol. Carteris was definitely one of the better ones. 🙂

I was never really in to 90210, but I still chuckled when I saw the Old Navy commercials. 🙂 Definitely a commercial geared towards 30-something mamas! LOL SNF

I feel like I need to be wearing pastel and a starched collar (standing up, of course) just to comment.

Hahaha! Guess what I found on TV this morning? I did a search on Dish and found that Soap runs reruns of Beverly Hills 90210! Ha! I hadn’t seen it in years and I watched 3 episodes with my daughter this morning!!!

I would totally watch it… I miss these types of shows from when I was younger. A movie would be the perfect solution to have all the old characters together!

I hate how everyone always names Brenda the bad guy when she had totally matured in season 4 before she moved to London, and Kelly was the one acting like a Bi-atch until they tried turning her into a saint after Brenda’s move. But whatever, I’d love to see movie where Dylan & Brenda and Brandon & Kelly finally get married. Steve & Clare were cute. Be nice if they could reunite:)

That is true! I always hated Kelly in the first few seasons. Honestly, I would rather see Brandon end up with Andrea, though. 🙂 Yes, I loved Steve and Clare together, but I also liked the girl he married, so I am okay with that. Clare was fun, though. 🙂
