  1. I love this list! I will have to tell my father-in-law that his birthday coincides with national “be late for something” day…totally not his style!

  2. I do not know who Chicken boy is, but I am glad he has his own day. And Weirdos day? I had no idea I had my own day as well.

    • Dawn McAlexander says

See, I am not sure who Chicken Boy is myself, but I liked his name so I added him to the list, lol. Now Weirdo day is one I can get on board with, too.

  3. Love this list! So some these I didn’t know existed but they are awesome.

  4. Thanks for this list!

  5. Who knew this was such an awesome month? Bring your manners to work day really should be every day though.. lol

  6. Oh excellent, tomorrow is Be Late for Something Day, I can totally get behind that holiday. Only thing is, I doubt my employer will be celebrating.

  7. Some of these holidays hit home for me in a big, big way. National Childhood Cancer and World Suicide Prevention Day is my big push to make sure everyone is aware of. There are too many children being harmed by these two evils. So Thanks for posting to make sure people have it on their calendar’s for next year.

    • Dawn McAlexander says

Thank you. I used to only post the silly holidays but decided to add in the ones that are actually important and meaningful.

  8. What a great list! Most I have never heard of!

  9. I haven’t heard of most of these days, haha. I’m all for the Positive Thinking Day, though. πŸ™‚

  10. Bonnie @ wemake7 says

I didn’t realize there were so many holidays in September. Thanks for sharing this. It’s great! =)

  11. WOW Never Knew There Were So Many Holidays In September My Goodness!!

  12. Cheese pizza day sounds like my kind of day, I can’t wait for it!

  13. Newspaper Carrier Day is new to me. How do you celebrate this occasion? Parties for newspaper carriers?

    • Dawn McAlexander says

That sounds good. Or maybe they should get to deliver them later in the day. They get up insanely early!

  14. Beyond labour day, i haven’t heard of a single one of these holidays at all. How can I get HR to recognize them?

    • Dawn McAlexander says

Right? And give you paid leave, too? If you figure that out, I would love to know. πŸ™‚

  15. Cheese Pizza day? Sign me up!

    • Dawn McAlexander says

I think I am going to go ahead and start celebrating by having some cheese pizza after I am done working for tonight. πŸ™‚

  16. How fun! We must celebrate Felt Hat Day! Hah, I love it! Thank you for compiling and sharing the fun list.

  17. lmao I like 8-track tape day. And without a doubt I’m having a cheese pizza on cheese pizza day

  18. wow i totally dont have any idea about this! there is a lot in the list above! would love the cheese pizza day and the teddy! i bet most people here in malaysia dont know about it too! but thanks for the list! will keep them on my lists too!

  19. I never knew of most of those, though every day is a reason to celebrate! I am going to have pizza today I think and be late to something (nothing to be late to today, already taught my fitness class and had to be on time, but I will think of something)

  20. Ann Bacciaglia says

Great list! Happy National Blueberry Popsicle Month everyone.

  21. What an interesting list. I had no idea there was a sky scraper day.

  22. I love learning about all these random silly holidays. Thanks for the list!

  23. I didn’t know all of these holidays existed. I see a few that would be fun to observe.

  24. My birthday is in September, it’s a great month!

  25. Great to have this list, now I have to think of something to do for Elephant Appreciation Day! I think I missed that holiday last year…

    • Dawn McAlexander says

I appreciate elephants all year so I will have to think of something special for that day, too. They are just so adorable. πŸ™‚

  26. That’s way too many “holidays” then there should be that’s for sure. I’m all for National Drink A Beer Day! Though I don’t like beer, so I shall replace that with a tequila, haha

  27. Just celebrated grandparents day last weekend! thanks
