  1. Woah, batman day? I am ALL over that one. Who knew?

  2. I find it hilarious that “preventing teen pregnancy” day is the day after “no pants” day! Maybe we should switch those?

  3. What a fun list. I too noticed Batman Day! What’s up with Put a Pillow in the Fridge Day?

    • Dawn McAlexander says:

Maybe for people who like their pillow super cold? As big as a pillow is, though, I am more worried about the lack of food in the house, lol!

  4. Am I the only one who thinks that there might be a direct connection to “No Pants Day” and the day following being “National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy Day?” Just a thought:)

    • Dawn McAlexander says:

Bahahahaha! I bet you are right! I now think perhaps the No Pants Day should only be celebrated by those 21+. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. We have so many May birthdays in our family, My favorite May day is May the 4th ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. This is a fun list! No Pants Day? Yikes! I think I’ll skip out on that one. Wait- I could wear a skirt, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Dawn McAlexander says:

Hey I think that technically that would work! Or maybe shorts?

  7. I didn’t know there was a Step-Mother’s Day. That means I get TWO Mother’s Day in May. Woohoo {off to celebrate}

  8. Hehe….what a fun list! I wish I had a cat to hug on Hug Cat Day! Oh, it might be scary for me to be running around with no pants on, scary sight! LOL!

  9. Wow what a list of holidays! I will be enjoying No Pants Day tomorrow! Maybe today too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. Think I’d rather celebrate oyster day than Cinco de Mayo. If only we were closer to the coast.

  11. OMG, who knew there were so many holidays! I love the National Tap Dance day. I ‘m going to have to dig up my old tap shoes and annoy my husband!

    • Dawn McAlexander says:

Hahahaha! Maybe that could also be National Annoy The Hubs Day!

  12. Bookmarking this for my social media job! Thanks for the list!

  13. What a funny list! I’m liking hug your cat day haha

  14. Respect a chicken day. Omg.

    My birthday isn’t listed!! Hello!?

  15. Wow, so fun! I love checking out these holidays. I have to say.. I am totally going to have to google lumpy rug day. What? LOL!

    • Dawn McAlexander says:

Ah Lumpy Rug Day! I wonder if that will be the day that I trip over a rug? I am pretty clumsy, so that could really be any day, lol.

  16. How did I miss that today is Batman DAy??? I love the random days like that.

  17. Sandy Cain says:

Woo-hoo! May 17, National Pizza Party Day – just put it on my calender. Onions, mushrooms, pepperoni and extra cheese! (To be followed by May 18, National Heartburn Day). Yowzah!

    • Dawn McAlexander says:

Hahahaha! That does sound like they should follow each other. I hadn’t thought about that. Also, your pizza sounds really good! I would just add some banana peppers. ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. The thing I always think of when the month of may arrives is the saying I learned as a child about April showeres brining May flowers.

  19. I could totally get on board with the no pants day! That’s pretty hilarious

  20. How funny! I was looking at a website listing many of these yesterday and couldn’t believe how many different things there were!

  21. Thanks for the list! I love this – the kids and coworkers like the fact that I am always celebrating something! I need to wear a dress to work today – It is No Pants Day!

  22. That is awesome! I knew there were some whacked out holidays, but I didn’t realize there were THAT many!! No pants day, huh? Wonder if anyone would notice when I go to pick up the kiddo from school. I do threaten to pick them up in my pajamas all the time…LOL!

  23. This is such an awesome post! Loved reading the list. I had no idea there were so many random holidays!

  24. Haha, I should have told my kindergartner it was no pants day today. He has a major phobia about anyone besides family seeing him in his underpants. ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Thanks for sharing these! Most of these were new, but Free Comic Book Day is a huge deal!

  26. You gotta wonder who comes up with some of these days!? But Batman day does sound pretty awesome!

  31. You can add my birthday to May 1st, haha! I had no idea there are so many holidays in May.

  32. There is one more holiday to add to the list….my birthday on may 14th! ๐Ÿ™‚

  33. I can’t wait for National Hoagie Day. Our local place is selling them for $5

  34. Anything food related is my favorite. I really should find out all of the “food holidays” and start eating that food for dinner that day- So fun! National Hoagie Day, National Hamburger Day, National Macaroon Day… MMMMM!

  35. I only knew about four of these… seriously.I had no idea there was a “New Homeowners Day”

  36. Sherry Compton says:

May the Fourth be with You! ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Star Wars Day!
It’s so much fun to celebrate some of these. I was excited. I didn’t know the 7th was Accountants’ Day. It’s my friends birthday and she is a financial advisor. Numbers are for her, and we will have to really celebrate.

  37. Wow who knew May had so many topics of celebration. I sure didn’t. This was very interesting. I actually made a new board named “May” to pin this article to. Thanks for sharing it.

  39. Melissa Mazzur says:

Ha! I love the clean up your room day! I will use that one!

you have to wonder how some of these came about, like no pants day. I think I will put these all on the calendar, it will confuse my family and I like to keep them guessing.

  41. Once again, It seems like there is a manufactured holiday every day of the year. My b-day is the orig. memorial day.Now it is celebrated whenever it can make a long weekend.

I wish i could have a party on all these days!! Or just have a don’t cook and clean day!! haha thanks
