I decided to do something really cool to my basement this winter. I bought a projector and a huge screen so that I can watch movies and games in this under utilized part of my house. Let’s face it. I love the movie theater experience and TVs are only so big. The screen arrived a couple weeks ago and the projector came yesterday so now I have what I need to set everything up.
Basement Media Room Decor Ideas
But, alas, my couch in the basement is awful. The faux leather is peeling and it’s just not all that comfy anymore. No self respecting viewing room would feature a couch like the one that is currently in mine.
So, it’s time to shop for a new one. But what should I buy? I am loving the idea of purchasing another sectional as they are so roomy and comfortable. I also like that you have the option of purchasing sofas on finance online, as it would be difficult for most people I know to pay for and big furniture item straight out.
What else do I need for the basement to create the ultimate media room? Well, since it’s in the blanket, its a little cooler than the rest of the house, so comfy blankets are a must. Also, pillows will make it more cozy. A small refrigerator and a popcorn maker are great ideas, too, as no one wants to have to walk upstairs everytime they want snacks.
Finally, don’t forget gaming systems. I am personally not all that big into gaming, but I do have a Wii downstairs. I am excited to see if it looks good playing games on the big screen. I have never done that before so I am not sure, but we shall see. It sounds fun though. I mean, a wall size Pac-Man like I am at Dave and Buster’s? Sign me up!
In conclusion, for my media room I want [or already have] the following: one of these portable projectors and screen, comfy furniture, popcorn maker, snuggly blankets and pillows, game systems, small refrigerator. Oooh! And some great speakers for an epic sound experience.
