My daughter just headed back to college for the semester. This is her final year towards her Associates Degree. This is also the year where she will be applying to other schools to continue her education toward her Bachelors Degree. In preparation for this exciting year, we made a trip to Barnes and Noble to pick up some stuff she needed.

Though Barnes and Noble offers tons of school supplies, we focused on items for downtime on this trip.

What College Kids Love To Read

Amber loves to read. She definitely got that from her mother. We feel that the school year should not consist totally of school books as reading material. I mean, how much Chemistry can one person take? Everyone needs some downtime. So, Amber had a few books in mind that she has been wanting to read for a while. We were looking, specifically, for Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews which we were easily able to find at Barnes and Noble.

Need a book bag? Barnes and Noble had a ton of cute ones on our recent visit.

Amber also really likes to try to de-stress when possible. College is lots of fun, but it can also be lots of work and stress. So, Amber chose a Creative Coloring for Grown-Ups books Glorious Gardens. She is creative and arty, so this is definitely going to be a great book for her this school year.

I know a lot of people feel like that but I am not sure that I agree. I think everyone needs one, at the very least, in case of an emergency. I think they are also great at helping to build credit when used properly. College kids will graduate and have careers, buy homes and cars. Why not have a credit card with a low limit and teach them how to properly manage one while building credit to help with bigger purchases later?

College is expensive! I like that B&N gives 5% back. Every little bit helps!

May your daughter have a very successful year, both of my sons are starting their second year in college. The youngest is down at Bowie State University and the oldest at The University of Delaware. Saving money is hard especially when it come to education expenses so every savings matters – great share.

Best of luck to your sons as well. It can’t be easy having two in college at the same time.

We do not have a BN were I live. I am a huge fan of buying new books, stationary and book bags. I wish I was going back to school!

I wouldn’t mind going back to school just so I could have more of an excuse to buy school supplies, lol.

Barnes and Noble is always a great place to get the best stuff for students. I never know that they have their own MasterCard which is quiet awesome & going to be useful for regular shopping with them.
