It is so hot outside. Too freakin’ hot! The thermometer reads 85 degrees at our house today. But, if you are from the south as we are, you know it isn’t the heat that gets you, it’s the humidity. And with the humidity at 50% at the moment, it feels like the temps are in the mid 90s. Whew! Now is the time that we need something to cool us off and we have just the thing: DIY chocolate dipped waffle cones accompanied by Turkey Hill Dairy All Natural Gelato.

You will need…

Your favorite chocolate syrup
Your favorite caramel syrup {optional}
Pecans {crushed; or favorite nuts of your choice}
Waffle cones

To Prepare…

Fill a small bowl about 1/2 inch full of chocolate syrup. Fill another bowl about 1/2 inch full of caramel and pour some crushed pecans {or other nuts} in another bowl.

Dip the waffle cone in either the chocolate or caramel syrup, whichever you choose, and shake off the excess syrup.

Next, dip the waffle cone in the nuts and roll it around until the syrup is covered in nuts.

Set on a plate to let dry or immediately fill with your favorite frozen treat. We recommend Turkey Hill All Natural Gelato, and serve.

Turkey Hill All Natural Gelato

Turkey Hill All Natural Gelato is available wherever Turkey Hill products are sold. But what exactly is gelato? Well, basically it’s Italian ice cream. Turkey Hill All Natural Gelato is made with simple ingredients, such as milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. It also has less air than most ice creams, giving it a richer, denser texture. And believe me, it is oh so good! It is available in eight different flavors, including Hazelnut, Purely Vanilla and Peach Mango! We sampled the Sea Salted Caramel, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate Chip. 🙂

The Sea Salted Caramel is Dawn’s personal favorite, and my personal favorite is Chocolate Chocolate Chip. When you add either of these to the DIY chocolate dipped waffle cones it really hits the spot! What a great treat on a hot and humid day.

Did you know that Turkey Hill is the first ice cream major brand to offer an all natural gelato?

We found that the Turkey Hill All Natural Gelatos are absolutely delicious! And we thing that you will love them, too.

    That is such a clever idea! We eat ice cream pretty much every day in our house, so I am going to make these for the kids (and me) this weekend.

    I dip rims of mocktail glasses in sugar, lime juice, etc. all the time, but I have never thought to dip a waffle cone in chocolate and nuts. It’s great! I’m going to make ice cream cones this weekend and my grandkids are going to think I’m so smart. 🙂

    I’ll have a scoop of each! All the flavors are so tempting! I’ll be looking for the brand Turkey Hill. Love that the ingredients are all natural!

  28. Gabriel says

    Love me some waffle cones. I have seen more and more about gelato and how it has a denser, richer texture than ice cream. I love ice cream (who doesn’t, really) I just keep forgetting to pick some up when I’m out. All natural is great, with more and more being learned about how High fructose corn syrup messes up your body, I’m glad to see a push back to sugar. It’s still not something to over indulge in, but it’s a lot better than the other option.

    What a fun way to enjoy some tasty gelato. I’ll have to check out the grocery stores near our relatives this summer to find the Turkey Hill brand. That chocolate chocolate chip is calling my name.
