Be Cozy This Winter With The NewAir AH-470 Micathermic Space Heater #ad @NewAirUSA

December 5, 2014 by Johnetta Dawson

I received a NewAir AH-470 Space Heater for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.

MIcathermic Space Heater

Winter can get quite chilly, especially when you live in Virginia. So, I was ecstatic to hear that I would be reviewing the Newair AH-470 Flat Panel Micathermic Heater. With temperatures dropping as fast as they are, this heater has shown itself to be very useful.

NewAir Micathermic Space Heater

We have baseboard heat throughout our house, but it is so expensive to use that we have turned off the breaker to them and absolutely refuse to use them this winter. We have one heater that we have been using to heat the house, but the bedrooms at the end of the hall just don’t get enough heat from this heater alone. When the weather gets too cold, we often have to break down and turn the baseboard heat on in the bedrooms. We really don’t want to do that this year, and I think that NewAir Micathermic Space Heater will be able to solve our heating problems.

NewAir AH-470 Micathermic Space Heater

This heater is exactly what I have been looking for. Instead of having heat just come out from the front of it, it has it coming out from both sides and on top, as well. This makes it a perfect heater to go at the end of the hall in our house because it can heat both mine and my daughter’s room at the same time. The NewAir Micathermic Space Heater is made to heat rooms up to 150 square feet. So, ideally, you wouldn’t use it to heat two rooms like I am doing, however it still has been able to keep both pretty warm at once. If you want your room really warm, I have tested it in one of the bedrooms with the door closed and it kept it really nice and toasty.

NewAir AH-470 Micathermic Space Heater

The NewAir Micathermic Space Heater has a lot of built in features to help with your electric bill. It has a built in thermostat, so when the area you are heating gets to the desired temperature, it turns off. It also has a timer that you can set to automatically turn the heater on when you want. That way you can heat the area that you want, exactly when you want to. For example, if you work until 5pm every weekday, you can set your heater to turn on 30 minutes or an hour before you get home. That way you aren’t paying to heat an empty area. I love features that save me money!

The design of the NewAir Micathermic Space Heater makes it easy to fit in any room. A lot of heaters are big and bulky, but that isn’t the case with this space heater. It’s really sleek looking and can fit in with many different decors without standing out and looking like a “heater”.

My son thinks it is the coolest thing ever. It comes with a remote control and it is very easy to use. All you do is click the heat button, then select the temperature you would like for the room you are heating to be. It will blink a couple of times and then the display will show what the temperature is now. The NewAir Micathermic Space Heater will keep on heating until the desired temperature is reached. I have noticed the temperature sometimes feels to be a couple of degrees off, but that isn’t any problem. I just turn the heat up a couple degrees hotter than I regularly would, and it all works out just fine.

NewAir AH-470 Micathermic Space Heater

If you have kids, you will definitely want to read this part. The NewAir Micathermic Space Heater has some really nice safety features. If it over-heats, it automatically shuts itself off. The same thing happens if it is accidentally knocked over. With kids, you really can never have too many safety features.

We believe that this heater would be perfect for a camper, building, an office, bedroom, or a bathroom.

I need this for my office. Especially the remote feature. Our temps are so questionable throughout the winter!

I need this for my office. We have forced heat , hot water boil. It sucks. Its either hot or cold. It has no temperature settings that really work. It’s also dual zones. The bathroom, office and kiddos room are on one zone. When shes not here with her dad we turn the heat down, which means my office gets cold cause its more towards the back of the house.

Wow! This is really nice. I like how small and convenient it is. It would fit perfectly under the desk to keep me toasty warm!

My space heater died about 2 weeks ago, so the timing of this is perfect. I might just get one ๐Ÿ™‚

This looks like a great space heater. We have a space heater that’s just hideous looking. I’d much rather have this one.

That’s an awesome looking space heater. All the one’s I’ve ever had were big, clunky, and ugly!

I have a tiny little one that I set on my office desk and blow at my face. This would be a much better solution.

Unfortunately there is no cheap way to convert cool air to warm. Using 220 is somewhat more efficient than 110. The best solution is to warm the rooms you use, bundle up at night and keep the thermostat turned down. N9t much help for me though as I don’t like it when it’s below 70.

I could totally use a space heater in our bathroom. It’s SO cold in there when I step out of the shower!

We use these at work – when the front doors of the hospital opens in the winter it can get quite chilly at the entrance.

I would love a new hi-tech space heater. Surprisingly in GA it has not been acting very wintery yet…still in the 50s 60s surprisingly so we havent had to use the ones we owned yet.
