Gift Idea: Transferring Memorable Videos To DVD #sponsored @YesVideo #MyMemoryLane

November 4, 2014 by Dawn McAlexander

Perfect Gift Idea: Transferring Videos to DVD | Cheap Is The New Classy

Recently we were going through some old movies and found a video of my daughter’s 8th birthday party on VHS. I really had no idea I had this and the video wasn’t in the greatest condition anymore after years of being kept in a basement. It was really exciting to find though! Except for the fact that we haven’t owned a VHS player in like forever. My husband and I got together when Amber was 9, so he would have just missed this, so transferring videos to dvd sounded like a great idea so that we could all enjoy our memories together.

Share Your Memories By Transferring Videos To DVD

It was so fun to watch Amber’s 8th Birthday Party on DVD. She is now almost 18, so that was several years ago. We had her birthday party at a skating rink that year and it was fun to see her so small, as well as her friends. There was also lots of family there that I haven’t seen in ages. There were even friends and people that we had to really think about who they were – everyone looked so different.

I really wish that I had more of Amber’s birthdays and other special events on video and I am really thankful that I now have this one to watch on DVD. You really can’t put a price on memories of your child and to be able to share them with Jay is even better. I am so glad we transferred it and were able to save those memories before the VHS tape became unusable.

I try to create a DVD series for each year of my child’s life. I finally gave my son his DVD’s from the last 24 years and he was amazed at some of the stuff, he thought he forgot. I recommend doing this whenever you can. Great wedding gift as well to your children.
