We have not always been a family that shops on Black Friday. We would usually go shopping on the weekend after and get all of the left over deals. However, last year there was a deal on laptops that we just couldn’t pass up. My daughter needed a laptop for school and I needed one for blogging so she and Jay went Black Friday shopping and each snagged one of the laptops. Last year was our first experience shopping on Black Friday and we plan to try it again this year.
Planning Out Our Buys For Black Friday Shopping
I really need a new camera for the blog – a DSLR camera. My smart phone takes decent pictures, but it’s really time to step up my game so that you guys can see some awesomesauce pics on this blog. Canon or Nikon, that is the question. I am not sure which is best, but both of these camera brands seem to be talked about among my fellow bloggers often. So, my husband and I have been looking through Shopular to see what deals we can find so that we can prepare.
Just browsing through the Shopular app this afternoon we found 3 options that seem nice to me: 1 each from Walmart {Nikon D3200 Bundle for $499}, Best Buy {Canon Recel T3i Bundle for $499} and Target {Nikon D3200 Bundle for $496}. I don’t know enough about each camera to know which is best, but I do hear a lot of good talk about each.
I am still trying to figure out how we are going to plan the shopping and which place is better to go to actually have a good chance at getting one of these cameras. If you have a lot of experience with Black Friday shopping, do you have any tips that you would like to share to help a girl out? Also, perhaps some of you can weigh in on which deal is better and why.

This is a great app! It took me a while to find a DSLR camera. I bought my Nikon from Best Buy. There are so many great deals out there nowadays. This app is nice! I plan on using it soon.
It sounds like you have a good plan! Good luck on Black Friday ๐
Good luck!!!! You’re a smart chica!

There are definitely some awesome deals out there this year. I have a D5200 and absolutely adore it, but I paid more than any of those prices for it.
Hey, but at least you didn’t have to fight the Black Friday crowd, right? ๐
Good luck to you! I’m one of those folks who hibernates on Black Friday, so I don’t have any tips. I know some people camp out overnight to get in there early… I think it’s too cold to do that (I’m a wimp). ๐
I want to add a DSLR Camera to my wish list! I would personally go with the Canon Recel T3i Bundle because of recommendations. I will have to check out the Shopular app
Nice cameras. I have that on my want list.
DSLRs are awesome, but take some practice. I actually took a photography class recently.
I think our community college offers one. Did you find that yours was helpful?
I am thinking of getting a new camera, thanks for the notice of sales
Sounds like a great plan. I need a new camera too, but think I will stick to online as I am not to much for those lines.
All three of these look like comparable deals, really. They’re all great prices. I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of them.
Shopular sounds great. I love that you included a specific example of how it can help me shop. Thanks!
I wish you lots of luck and good deals if you brave Black Friday. I will be sleeping in that morning and not leaving the house all day!
I wish you lots of fun hanging out at the house, too. ๐
I’m really in need of that good camera too! I will be working on black friday morning, but I usually am, so that’s nothing new. I am loving these new apps that allow you to find the sales ahead of time.
Good luck to you if you go camera hunting, too. ๐
I LOVE Shopular. I’ve already found some amazing deals. Best of luck with your camera hunt. I think all three options are pretty good deals.
I haven’t tried shopular. It sounds great!
I will be doing alotof online shopping myself. Beat those crowds forsure.
These camera bundles are such good buys. You could do well with all of them.
I don’t do Black Friday but I am planning out my Cyber Monday list. I am so excited about all of the deals that will be available.
I personally like Canon better than Nikon. I think they’re more user friendly (but as any photog will probably tell you – you’re either team Nikon or team Canon). With that being said, my Canon 40D kit was the best purchase I’ve ever made.
Thanks for your thoughts. From everything I have read so far, it does seem to be that way. You like one or the other.
They all look great to me but I use my cell phone! One of these days I will be a grown up and buy a real camera. Good luck with finding the right one!
Seems like you have your trip well planned and you’ve already scoped out the deals. I would get the Nikon D3200 from Target since it’s a few dollars cheaper.
I love Shopular too! The ads and alerts are wonderful features! I can see myself using it a ton soon!
I am on the look out for a DLSR camera as well. I just wish I had enough money to go buy one on Black Friday.
Love that camera. Thinking of skipping black Friday this year . Lol
I’ve never really taken part in Black Friday shopping, but these cameras do look fantastic!
I’m not sure about the Nikon cameras because I’ve been shopping Canon cameras, but I do know that in the Best Buy Canon T3i Bundle, the second lens does not have image stabilization, which means to use that lens and get results you want – you’ll need to always use a tripod. We ended up purchasing a Canon SL1 bundle last night, which has the best of both worlds from the Canon T3i and the Canon T5 (Touch screen, HD video etc..).
That sounds awesome. I would love to hear your thoughts on that camera after you use it for a while and I will be glad to share my thoughts on mine. ๐
