Cheap Is The New Classy

Welcome to the Fall Harvest Giveaway Hop hosted by LeahSay’s Views and Planet Weidknecht. This giveaway hop will run through October 20th to give you plenty of time to enter to win lots of great prizes! Autumn is in the air and I love it as it is my favorite time of the year. When it starts to get cooler, I love to catch up on my reading. If you are the same, you will love the Chicken Soup For The Soul Prize Pack that I have for you. And don’t forget to “hop” around to each of the bloggers listed in the linky below for more chances to win.

Chicken Soup For The Soul: Billy Graham and Me

Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Billy Graham & Me shares stories from many different people including as presidents, well known pastors and other famous people about their experiences and relationships with Billy Graham. Through these recountings, you get to see just how greatly Billy Graham has affected many people’s lives and helped them renew their faith and hope in God in an even stronger, more meaningful way than before.

Chicken Soup For The Soul Finding My Faith and Billy Graham and Me

Chicken Soup For The Soul: Finding My Faith

Many religious books in today’s market seem to focus on trying to get you to believe in their religion, rather than believing in God which can oftentimes turn people away. The great thing about Chicken Soup for the Soul: Finding My Faith is that instead of focusing on a certain religion and the rules that lie within it, it focuses on people’s personal stories about how God has affected their lives.

One of the many great features of this book is that it is an easy read, with short stories that any person who wants to develop a closer relationship with God can understand. The stories are divided up into eleven categories. Some of these categories include stories based around Loss, Fire, God’s House, and Family. Out of all the different types of stories, I found that Miracles was by far my favorite. Just about every story gave me chills or made the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

Another section that I found great was the Finding Faith Through Loss. In this section, you see how people get closer to God while struggling with the loss of a loved one. When losing someone, it can be really hard to keep your faith in God. Sometimes, people lose their faith altogether. Reading those stories helps to see that dying is a part of life that we all go through, and God will be there with you every step of the way.

As I was reading Finding My Faith, I found it helpful in a personally faith-challenging time. The stories were very inspirational and I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to read about other people’s spiritual journeys as well as work on their own.

There have been many times when I’ve needed help or to reach out with my faith. When my father died. When my daughter was in the hospital very, very sick. Turning to God is important.
