wording

My husband is such a cat guy. When we first met, I had the coolest cat ever. He was an orange tabby named Garfield. He always looked ill at the world, but he was the most good natured cat you would ever meet. So he was super funny. I am still not 100% sure whether Jay married me for me or for my cat. 😉

The Benefits of Hills Science Diet Cat Food
Garfield: The friendliest cat ever – can’t you tell by that face. 😛

A Solution To Grain Sensitivity In Cats

Garfield has since passed on but we have 4 other cats now that we love and adore. Part of loving your cat is feeding it great food and Science Diet definitely fits that bill. I know that many of you feed or have fed your cats Hill’s® Science Diet®, but have you tried the new Grain-free variety? If your cat is allergic or sensitive to grains in their food, this is definitely something to consider.

The benefits of Science Diet Grain Free cat food
What’s up?

Some important things to remember when you add to or change your cat’s diet..

o Grain-free does not mean carb-free.
o Nutrient excess and/or deficiency can lead to certain health conditions.
o Good nutrition isn’t just about ingredients – it’s about the right balance of nutrients.
o As ingredient quality increases, so does a pet’s ability to absorb and use the nutrients for optimum health.
o Natural ingredients do not guarantee optimum nutrition, precisely balanced nutrients does.
o A grain-free food is only a healthy option for your cat when it is precisely balanced.

I have never tried Science Diet for any of my cats. Currently I have an 18-year-old who wants gravy-laden soft food and a 5-year-old who cleans up some of the soft food but likes kibble. I upgraded the kibble from her original home but I would like to do better. Science Diet is one of the foods available at the vet’s office so I think it would be better than what I use.

    September 11, 2013 at 9:28 pm

I have not tried Hill’s Science Diet Cat Food before. However, I have heard nothing but great things about it. I would like to try it because after doing some research for the best cat food for cats that have had a UTI, I read that Grain Free was the way to go if I couldn’t afford the pricey prescription diet that the vet recommenced, which I can’t. This would come in really handy for my little babe. Then I can be sure he is getting exactly what he needs nutrients wise. Great photos by the way! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway 🙂

    • Dawn McAlexander says

      September 11, 2013 at 10:24 pm

Thanks a bunch! Hope your cat{s} are better soon!

      • Tasha says

        September 12, 2013 at 12:00 am

They are pretty healthy now thanks 🙂 The one had to have surgery for the UTI, last summer. So far so good though. He’s been drinking a lot more water. But He’s grown picky to where the water comes from! He won’t drink it if it’s not coming from the running tap! LOL So I invested in a cat fountain and they both love it! No more running to the bathroom to turn on the tap. Heheheh

          September 12, 2013 at 2:02 am

That’s what our cat is eating now – he’s huge and had to lose a lot of weight after his stomach lining ruptured. When we adopted him, he was well over 30lbs, now he’s down to 24.8lbs. Getting there – he’s still massive though.

I nave used a prescription science diet food before with a previous kitty, but not with my current cats. I have three cats now, all three are rescues and I’d love to win this food for them as I really like grain free food for my pets. I feed my dogs grain free and am interested in feeding the cats grain free as well and winning this would be the perfect opportunity to try it for them. My kitties are not picky so I’m sure they would like it and I like that meat is the first ingredient and it’s a high quality food. Thanks for the chance to win for my kitties.
