Camping Under The Stars !
I love camping and I love hanging out in the nature with friends. A few years ago, I went to 4H camp and had a blast! We did many outdoors things such as canoeing, horseback riding, and rock climbing! One day, they told us to change into our pajamas and get ready to leave the cabin. None of us had any idea what we were doing, but we were really excited! Pretty soon, we found ourselves walking on a trail in the pitch black night headed to what seemed like nowhere.
Camping Under The Stars
Soon, we arrived at one of our destinations. We were at a huge bonfire that was surrounded by many logs to sit on. We all crowded around and talked for hours and roasted hot dogs. It was really fun. After a few hours passed, people started getting restless. So, the camp leaders got us back into our groups and instead of heading back to our cabins, we headed further into the woods! Again we found ourselves confused, yet excited.
Eventually, we arrived at a huge open field that was covered with multiple tarps! Also, someone had brought all our sleeping bags to the area. Of course, we all assumed we were camping and that the tents had yet to be put up. Boy were we wrong! We were soon informed that we were sleeping on nothing but the tarps and our sleeping bags! Nothing but us under the stars. At first, I did not really like the idea of sleeping without any shelter. But soon enough, I was tucked into my sleeping bag and found out just how fun it could really be. It was very peaceful sleeping in the woods because we got to hear the crickets chirp while looking at the nice open sky.
The only drawback: if you are planning to do this, I would advise you bring some bug spray. . . and a lot of it!
Have You Ever Slept Under The Stars?
Yes. Years ago when my husband and I were dating we drove out of state to what we thought was a well know camp ground.When we got there is was late and we were tired. The campground was no longer there. Basically we did the same. Pulled out sleeping bags and slept under the stars. The nice part was the sky was lit up by thousands of stars. It was beautiful.
It sounds like you were able to make a great experience over one that could have gone really poorly. That is awesome!
Yes, camping under the stars is fun. Just going outside at night and starring up at the sky a lit with stars is beautiful. I love seeing the night sky from different states. Also, astronomy and the constellations have always been interesting to my family.
