I’m even thinking about getting a small pool where Marley can take a dip in while I read. That sounds like a wonderful staycation idea to me.

4. Paws and Reflect
Ever tried walking barefoot on hot pavement? Ouch! Now imagine your pet’s paws on that same pavement. Always check the temperature of sidewalks or any surface before letting your pet walk on them. So, I have her scheduled every 4 weeks, for maintenance and for cooling in the summer, and every 4-6 weeks in the winter. Regular grooming helps remove excess fur and lighten their load, making it easier for them to stay cool. Consider a summer trim for particularly fluffy pets but consult with your vet or a professional groomer to ensure it’s done safely without exposing their skin to sunburn.
