Mango Appletini Recipe Inspired By The Dominican Republic

Mango Appletini Recipe Inspired By The Dominican Republic

When I visited the Dominican Republic last year, I picked up some Macorix Appletini at one of the local vendors in the DR. I had no specific plans for what I would do with it but I had sampled it there and knew that I could drink it straight if I wanted. However, we love to try new mixed drinks, so John {Jay’s uncle} and Jay experimented with it one day and came up with this super tasty drink. We hope you like it as much as I do.

Mango Appletini Recipe

You will need…
Sugared Martini glass {this recipe can serve 1-2, depending on how full the glasses are}
1 shot {1/8 cup} Macorix Appletini {or your favorite appletini}
3/4 cups frozen mango chunks
1 cup of your favorite mango punch {we picked this up at the local grocery store}
1/2 cups ice

To Prepare…
1. Sugar your glass.
2. Combine all ingredients in blender at once.
3. Blend that mess until smooth.
4. Drink up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Macorix Appletini is produced in Puerto Plata, the part of the Dominican Republic that Amber, Mackenzie and I visited last year. Macorix Appletini is a rum liquor that tastes highly of apples and was only like $8 in the DR if memory is serving me correctly. We are currently working on building a bar/gameroom in our basement and I thought this would be something fabulous to add to our collection. Every time I drink a Mango Appletini, I am reminded of the beautiful time that I had in the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic a really beautiful country and we had a ton of fun, learned a lot and met so many great people while there. If you get the chance to visit you definitely should. We went in June and it was super hot, so you might want to visit during December or January if you would like it to be a little cooler. Of course, I am not an expert, that is just my experience with Caribbean travel.

See what else we did while visiting the Dominican Republic last summer here.
