Prom Accessory Must Have: The Garter Purse #ad @Dance_Mate

March 5, 2014 by Dawn McAlexander

Forget lugging around a purse on prom night. Hide your cell phone and cash in a garter purse #sponsoredCheap Is The New Classy

So, my daughter has prom this year and I am excited to be taking her prom dress shopping very soon. I never went to prom so I don’t really know a ton about prom girl problems, so when my daughter asked me where she could put her money and cell phone and such without having to lug a purse around all night, I really just drew a blank. But then I found the Garter Purse from Dance-Mate.

Prom Night: Keeping Your ID, Cash and Phone Safe With The Garter Purse

It’s seriously like what it sounds. The Garter Purse is a small satin purse with a stretchy lace garter, which you wear around your thigh under your dress. Two silicon grippers hold it in place, making sure that your garter does not slip while you dance the night away. Hands free! How inventive! Obviously, my daughter has to have money for prom and she definitely has to have her cell phone so that she can contact us or heaven forbid, help, should she need it. I don’t want her sitting a purse down somewhere and possibly forgetting it or having it stolen. That just isn’t safe. And no one wants to dance while holding their purse.

Enjoy Safer Travels With The Garter Purse

The garter purse isn’t just for prom night either. I love to travel. But, let’s be real, you really don’t know who you can trust. I have known several people who have had their purses snatched. With the garter purse, you could hide your ID and other essentials from would be robbers. After all, it’s harder for them to steal something that they can’t find.

Features Of The Garter Purse

  • Holds smartphone, credit cards, cash, ID, and lip gloss.
  • Secure Velcro closure adjusts to fit smartphones (without case) up to 5โ€ tall.
  • Satin purse measures 4.0โ€ x 4.5โ€.
  • Stretch lace garter measures 4โ€ wide, with 2 strips of silicone gripper for a secure no-slip fit.
  • Wears discreetly under dress or flirty and showing. Comfortable fit with easy access.
  • Hand wash cold only

That is so cute, I love all the things that they are coming out with so that you can discretely carry what you need for events like this. We never go anywhere without our phones but do not always want them seen!

My daughter is having her prom in a few months. She may be interested in something like this. Would be an easy way to keep her wallet close by. Thanks for the review. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s a pretty neat idea. I don’t dress up that often, so I am not sure when I would have a chance to use one of these, but I like the concept of it.

Why oh why was the Garter Purse not invented when I went to prom?! I could have really used one of those. It’s a great concept!

Pretty cool. I would have loved this in my college days when I had to find a creative way of storing my phone and car key while out on the dance floor!

  6. Veronica says

Wow! Really sexy! My skirts are usually too tight and too high to pull this off without the whole world seeing it, but it is such a great concept

That would work great for me on vacation. I am always trying to find a place to keep my cell phone and a little extra cash. I think it would also work under a pair of shorts.. if they weren’t tight fitting.

What a great way for ladies to keep their money and /or ID close at hand with out having to carry a purse.

Seriously I love this! I have gone to dances or just fancier outings with the husband and seriously didn’t know what to do with my wallet. Brilliant.

    March 5, 2014 at 5:37 pm

Now that is a really good idea. When you’re out dancing the last thing you want to worry about is your valuables. This helps!

I’m so glad they made something like this! This is perfect for weddings and prom. You can have the important things save with you while you can enjoy a great night of dancing!

I wish I had known about this before my daughter’s prom! It would have been perfect.

The garter purse is a cute idea. This would even be great for nights out on the town.

This is such a great idea. Now girls don’t have to worry about losing their purse or leaving their valuables around while they are dancing.

I think it’d be great not just for weddings, but also for travel as you mentioned. Maybe for those times when you have to limit what you’re bringing on a plane.

  17. Theresa says

    March 5, 2014 at 10:08 pm

That really is a very useful product! Girls can relax without having to carry their clutches around all night, or leaving their valuables at the table while they dance. This definitely takes the worry out of losing your stuff or getting it stolen while you are having a good time!

This is such a great idea! It’s one of those that you are like why didn’t I think of that or see it sooner. ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus, it works for many situations not just prom. There are many times I don’t want to take a purse but need to have cash on hand and always like to have a phone for safety. Have fun prom dress shopping. Can’t wait to read about it!

I am very excited about it! It was tons of fun when we went shopping for her a dress when she went to New York. She saw Phantom of the Opera there. You can see that dress on my other blog, Eat Play Rock, if you like: http://eatplayrock.com/2013/06/new-york-city-adventure-nyc/

Great idea! Something like this could be used in a variety of situations.

My mom designed something like this for herself when she traveled but I believe she had it attached to a different area of her body. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That is just the perfect solution for stashing the essentials on prom night! Where was this 20 years ago when I went to prom?

  21. lisa says

That’s actually a pretty good idea. It’s so much better than trying to keep track of a handbag all evening.

This is so cute and a great idea for many people. I like to wear skirts. I hate lugging around purses and usually when I am out with my husband he becomes my holder of many things. Ha ha ha!! Love it!

This is such a great fashion idea for keeping items safe. I wish there was a less “sexy” version for younger females who want to wear it.

  25. Courtney Pies says

    March 6, 2014 at 10:00 pm

I absolutely love this idea for the garter purse! This would be perfect for a high school prom, or if you dress up and go out with your friends!

This is a great idea! I wish they had something like this when I was younger!

  27. Bethany Broughton says

    March 7, 2014 at 2:27 pm

This is a great idea. It would be really handy when you have no way to carry a bag of some kind. Also if you wanted to hide something as well.

  28. Jennie says

    March 7, 2014 at 9:36 pm

That’s an interesting idea. I don’t know if I would ever use it, but I bet lots of people would.

  29. Maddie K. says

    March 7, 2014 at 9:59 pm

So sexy, but I’m not so sure it would be very convienent to get to your money or wallet. Not to mention, I’d be afraid it would slip down as I have biggish thighs.

  33. Georgia Beckman says

This is a FANTASTIC idea! I can see how it would be great for prom, but I also think this is a great accessory for women who are traveling. (might not be convenient when shopping, but you definitely wouldn’t get your pocket picked!)

  34. Nancy says

  39. Stacy Harrington Calhoun says

    March 13, 2014 at 11:05 pm

i so wish i had these for when i wore garters under my prom dresses. It always sucked having to put my inportant money or license in my dates wallet for the night.

These are attractive, cute and convenient to carry and hide something for later use. But if you are going to need it you will have to go to the ladies’ room to remove the item in question without flashing too much leg!
