AT&T Landline Phone Services ~
If you own a business, or run one from home {like this blog}, then it is vitally important to have a land line telephone so that professional contacts can get in touch with you. Yes, cell phones are convenient and portable, but reception isn’t always great. Many people we know live in rural areas where cell phone reception is very poor or even non existent. Also, land lines are helpful in the event that you lose power or your cell phone needs charging. Sometimes we lose power here and we have found that most land lines still work even if the power is off!
So, Why Would You Want A Landline Phone?
AT&T offered us the chance to review their landline phone system, the 3 Handset Connect to Cell Answering System. This landline system phone allows you to connect your smart phone via Bluetooth Technology to the handset which allows you to:
- View your Connect to Cell Answering System call logs and caller ID to monitor who has called your home phone
- Use your smart phone to call back those who have called your home phone
- Use Alerts Manager to receive notifications of emails, text messages, and social media updates on your Connect to Cell Answering System land line (requires a download of Alerts Manager app on your smart phone)
- Connect two cell phones via Bluetooth Technology to your Connect to Cell Answering System
This Connect to Cell Answering System also comes with 3 handsets. Only the main handset system needs to be plugged into a phone jack, which means that you do not need to run extra phone lines for the other 2 handsets! I know I have lived in homes where jacks are scarce – maybe one or two per house – so this feature is very convenient!
Chat With Others In Your Home With The Built In Intercom System
It also comes with an intercom system for talking back and forth inside the house with people in other rooms! My wife really loves that because she can be sitting in the living room and talk walky-talky style to our teen daughter who is at the other end of the house in her room. Plus, as long as the power is still connected you can charge your cell phone via the USB port on the side of the answering system.
Our Thoughts On The AT&T 3 Handset Connect To Cell Answering System
The AT&T 3 Handset Connect to Cell Answering System phone has made our lives much easier. We enjoy many aspects of this landline phone system. My wife doesn’t use the higher tech stuff on it but she loves to beep our daughter, haha! I use the USB port to charge my phone quite a bit, and with the Connect to Cell Answering System, we know even when we are away from home when someone is calling our home phone! That is pretty cool! We also have some static in our home line. This has been the case since we bought the house and with every phone we have used. However, we have noticed that the static is far less noticeable on this phone – we are very pleased with that!
And finally, my wife wanted me to add that we have had voicemail on our landline for years. We hate it – we can never remember the code and it fills up and then people complain that they can’t leave a message. So, we activated the answering machine on our new phone and all the messages go there! You don’t have to know a code – just pick it up and listen to the messages from any of the handsets. She likes stuff simple. 🙂
We have really enjoyed this landline phone system and it has suited our needs just fine, and we would recommend it for any one who is looking for a phone with more than just simple calling – but still wants an economical price.

We just got rid of our landline to save money, but I am missing it with our terrible cell service. I like that you can charge your cell with the usb capabilities! And we always had issues with voicemail too!
Our landline is free with our internet. Seriously. We have DSL – maybe you should check and see if your cable, satellite or internet company is running some special like that. 🙂
I definetly prefer to keep things simple without adding more machines but I can think of plenty of times this would come in handy! Like my granny, for example, who likes to text but can’t stand holding a small phone to chat – so great!
Oh my gosh, the intercom is fantastic. It sure beats hollering up the steps!!!! I am all about a landline when I’m at home. I love my cell phone but I prefer the clarity of a landline phone when I’m at home.
Right! We have 2 stories as well, and though we are currently use this to chat with each other from one end of the house to the other, it would be ideal to have another set for downstairs!

Hahaha! You sound like me. My husband uses all the techy stuff. I am pretty simple so I like to use the intercom to talk to my daughter. 😀 Oh, and I programmed some select numbers in it. All of that is pretty simple.
This looks like a great product! We got rid of our landline a few years ago and I have to admit that I miss it at times when the reception is bad.
We live right outside of Minneapolis and I have a hard time getting reception inside my home. I’d be lost without my landline.

I have a land line and I don’t even use it. In fact, I am not even sure what my house number is.
Lol! I have a hard time remembering what my house number is, too…or any number for that matter. They are all programmed into my phone. We got rid of our landline several years ago because I felt similar to you. Then we started missing it and hooked it back up a few years ago. I especially appreciate it when my cell phone dies or if I want to make a call that would use my minutes on my cell phone. 🙂
I think this looks like a great phone. We have AT&T for phone service and I like their products so this is something I will look into to.
I have AT & T for a cellular carrier and I looked into this system. I would have loved to have grabbed it up and used it, but my cable company would raise my bill if I took my phone service out of the package. It would end up costing me more money in the long run.
I’ve read about this a couple of times and each time I am more convinced to give it a try. I’m definitely thinking that this fall/winter is the time for us to try it out.

What a good idea! I have a family member who needs this.
Land line phone are very useful and come in handy. We love having multiple handsets. One for the living room, the office, and for the garage where my husband spends his time working on cars. The intercom lets us easily let him know when dinner’s done or we need him to come in. Ours don’t connect to the cell, but I can see where this would be really useful for many households.
This is really interesting. We don’t have a landline because I got so tired of the telemarketers. My mom does though so I will pass this along.
I haven’t had a landline in years, and have never even really thought about bringing it back. But there are definitely some rural areas that would really benefit from this.
All we have at home is a land line. My husband has a cell phone but it’s for work.

I agree with you on that. Some are so small that I feel I have to move it down to my mouth when I talk and back to my ear to hear. I am sure I look super smart doing that, lol.
Even though all members of the family have cell phones, we still have our landline. I find it necessary, not only for personal connections, but to be able to make and receive calls about my dog rescue. Even in my own house, my cell phone doesn’t always get the best connection, and I know I’ll have a better connection on the landline.
Wow this is something I can use and I haven’t seen anything like this before. I love technology and what new comes along.
I have to have a landline. I have a Tracfone with limited minutes, and I only use it for emergencies. I know it’s the other way around for most people, but hey! I can’t afford an expensive plan or a phone. I also like having the freedom to just check my messages when I get home, and only being available for emergencies. All my contacts know never to cry wolf when they’re calling my phone.

AT&T is one of the original landline services. We have to have one for my defibrillator, unless I want to use an adaptor.

I find that a land line is always a great back up to have for those who use their cell phones for the majority of all calls. There are times I can not charge my cell but must make a call right now…hence the land line comes in very handy.

I think having a land line is important for more than just business use – it’s really a good piece of mind.
We got rid of our landline a couple years ago and have stuck with our cell phones since then. That’s an extremely good point about a landline and a business, though! I never really put two and two together but it really is important to have excellent reception that a landline provides for a business.
Great review. I like the inter-connectivity of everything. I particularly like the way the phone/base is labeled. everything is very clear and it looks very elegant in the design. The best part about a landline is the phone usually ends back on the base, so you can always find it.
The intercom feature, I need the intercom. My mom is 75% deaf, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to talk to her from another room. This is an apartment, not a house, and I’ve been thinking of stringing cans together with twine. (It worked in 5th grade). OMG!
