How Dirty Is YOUR Car’s Cabin Air Filter? Fight Allergies With #FresherCar #cbias #sponsored

May 1, 2013 by Dawn McAlexander

FRAM Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter ~

FRAM Cabin Air Filter with Fresh Breeze

As many of you know from reading previous posts on this blog, I am an allergy sufferer. I also have asthma that is exacerbated by allergies, so I definitely need to try to keep my allergy symptoms in check. In our home, we make sure to try to dust often, clean bedding frequently, keep the windows closed and air on, and I stay inside on the worst pollen days. But one thing I have never thought about was how my car’s cabin air filter could be triggering my allergies.

Allergies and You: Changing Your Cabin Air Filter Is Easy Peasy

I will be honest, when I learned I was going to get to review a FRAM air filter, I thought it meant the one under the hood. The cabin air filter is a little bit different, though – and just as important. Don’t let “different” scare you, though, ladies. This one is just as easy peasy to change as the the one under the hood. And, if you are still daunted, the awesome folks at FRAM have supplied some awesome printables and videos to help you on your clean air journey. Or you can just make your husband do it. There’s always that. 😉

We decided to get a FRAM Fresh Breeze Air Filter with Arm and Hammer Baking Soda for our 2007 Chevrolet HHR. The FRAM instructional video estimated full installation time to be about 15 minutes. That’s awesome! I definitely don’t want to fill my Saturday afternoon with long and tedious car maintenance – so anything FRAM can do to help me out is thoroughly appreciated. 😉

Installation of the FRAM Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter in our 2007 Chevy HHR was a breeze. All I had to do {aka made my husband do} was…

Why Choose FRAM Air Filters?

What Makes FRAM Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filters with Arm and Hammer Baking Soda superior to others..

Premium Efficiency – Filters 98% of dust, pollen, and other contaminants*

Odor Absorption – Arm & Hammer baking soda combined with carbon embedded into the filter assist in cleaning outside air flowing through the vehicle’s ventilation system.**

Save $4 On Your FRAM Oil Filter and Air Filter

We have always used FRAM Oil Filters. We just think they are the best. So, I am excited to tell you that if you buy a FRAM Oil Filter and a FRAM Air Filter now through the end of the year, you can get $4 back! All you have to is fill out this FRAM Rebate form and send it in. They also have several other rebates that you can take advantage of including $3 off a cabin air filter {think I will be taking advantage of that one}. 🙂 Check the link for full details.

I never thought about the car. I have allergies and where we live everything is coated green outdoors. This is something to check into.

Everything is green here, too. I love this time of year for the pretty trees and flowers, but I also hate this time of year for the pretty trees and flowers. 😉

We don’t get anything done around here without feline assistance either! I never knew about that filter. I’ll have to show the hubby as he has a terrible time with allergies. Thanks!

We also have an older car – a 2002 Jeep Liberty. I need to check and see if they offer cabine air filters {or if the car even has one??} as well.

I am getting a FRAM Fresh Cabin Filter for my dad for Father’s Day, but I couldn’t locate them in stores here (though we have 3 WalMarts), so I had to order it. Can’t wait for the fresher air!

Thanks a bunch! Sadly, I never did either. It never occurred to me that I should change a cabin air filter before.

We have our filter changed as needed at our Honda dealership otherwise I would not have know about this filter at all. I think they use the Fram brand I know hubby used that brand on our older car.
