My daughter was hospitalized for quite awhile. Procedures, xrays, scans, special equipment…you had no idea of the cost. She was very worried and overwhelmed by it all. It’s scary because you know you have to have it, but have no idea what the cost will do to you in the future.
You are right about that. You know that you need to get well and need to focus totally on that. But, it’s hard to when you are worried about what you have to deal with when you leave the hospital. I hope your daughter is doing well now.
We are to familiar with medical costs, and loss of wages and trust me we wish we had prepared better! Aflac would have been a blessing to have had! What’s that saying, “if I only knew then, what I know now” :/ Plus I love that cute little duck! AFFFFFFLAC!!! 🙂

I think Aflac is definitely valuable for those with kids (especially since a sick child often means one parent has to stay home from work), or older individuals. It was something offered to me at a past job, but not something I chose to take advantage of, because it just wasn’t something I felt I needed at the time. Down the road, however, it’s definitely something I’ll be keeping in mind. What I like about it is that it’s transferrable–once you get a policy with them, it’s yours, so if you change jobs, you don’t lose your coverage.

So many people do not realize the full impact of a serious injury/ilness on the bottom line. Aflac is great for preparing it’s clients and ensuring the bumps are evened out.
4 years ago I contracted meningitis and the bills were astronomical! Anything to have helped pay the bills would have been nice.

i am so fortunate to have most of my medical expenses covered by the hubbies military insurance. It was so expensive when i had my own insurance before we got married.
The cost of healthcare these days is outrageous. I think we need to look into supplemental insurance.

My aunt worked for AFLAC while she was in school and she recommends their services for sure! I have to look into a policy for my son who plays a lot of sports. Just an ambulance ride cost us $650.
