Make Your Own Soda With SodaStream {Sponsored Review}

July 12, 2012 by Dawn McAlexander

If you are like me then you don’t know many people who are not fans of soda. Everywhere you look people are sipping sodas in cans, bottles, glasses and more! But, have you ever wondered where all those cans, bottles and glasses end up?

SodaSteam has many machines to choose from. This shows how easy one of them is to operate!
Sure, there are some people who recycle but most still throw these containers away. After they are thrown away, they are either burned or buried. When they are burned, the smoke from the fire releases harmful gases into the ozone. These harmful gases can cause holes to appear in the ozone. The ones that are buried can cause harmful gases to seep into the ground and contaminate useful things such as groundwater.

When you use Sodastream, you don’t have to worry about any of that. You don’t have to worry about throwing away plastic containers, or other harmful things such as that, to drink out of every time you want a soda. The SodaStream comes with really cool bottles that can be used up to 3 years! If you are worried that you won’t be able to find flavors that you like, or that you will miss your name brand sodas too much; don’t worry! They offer way too many great tasting sodas to ever get bored of them. Also, if you aren’t a soda-lover, they also offer Crystal Light, Sparkling Natural, and Country Time flavors.

SodaStream is super easy to use. All you do is screw in the bottle that is specially made for your machine. There is a button at the top that you hit a until you hear the beep and you are in business. Everyone in my house has now made soda with the SodaStream without problems. 🙂

So far, I am very impressed with my Sodastream. It is very easy and fast to use. My personal favorite would have to be the Black Current and Pear, hands down! It is the bomb! I also love the Pink Grapefruit, Diet and Regular. My husband’s favorite is the Diet Lemon Lime and the Cola and my daughter’s is the Cola. The Ginger Ale was also a big favorite in my family! My absolute favorite thing about the Soda Stream is how you can customize your soda. I have never been a humongous fan of soda because I don’t like all the “fizziness” of it – you know, all the carbonation. It makes my throat burn and my eyes water. Yuck! With SodaStream, I can adjust my carbonation down in my soda so that I don’t have all the “fizziness.” I like my soda almost flat and my husband and daughter HATE that – now we can each have it just the way we like it! Brilliant!

I hope that you will read this and that it will convince you to get a sodastream. This would have to be one of the best investments that anyone could make, especially during this tough economy.

    I’m the same way! When I drink soda out of a can, which is rare, it feels like the carbonation is burning my throat lol. I prefer it with minimal fizz. I don’t know the soda stream did that 🙂

      Yeah! Just don’t squirt as much carbonation in it. 🙂 I LOVE that!

    I am very interested in the SodaStream. I haven’t tried it yet but it is great to hear that the formulas taste good. I was worried about the comparisons. My husband and daughter love Diet Dr. Pepper and we would love to try the Diet Dr. Pete version they have. Good tip about you getting to chose how much carbonation and flavors. It’s almost like Sonic. You could mix and match and really have fun.

    Hi– Found out about your SodaStream post on Fabulous Finds and came over to find out more about it. Probably dating myself, but I remember when I was a little girl they sold soda flavoring that you could mix with water– was pretty good, but with no fizz not as cool for kids. This seems pretty awesome!

    I have wanted to win a SodaStream machine for over a year. I have entered, and entered, and entered. I even tried to win one from Dr. Oz. Alas, luck has not yet been with me. We drink a ton of diet soda. This little device would save so much money as we have been known to buy case upon case of soda on “sale”, but forget about an opened can in the car and have to waste it. Thanks for the opportunity to win. The Black Currant and Pear actually sounds very good. I normally enjoy Cherry Diet Coke, Vanilla Diet Coke, or Diet Dr. Pepper as opposed to plain Diet Coke. 🙂

I would probably buy the Pink Grapefruit if I had a machine, and consider the Black Currant and Pear because that combination sounds intriguing! I have tried the cola and 7up-type at a local demo and did not like either at all.

    I would absolutely love to own a SodaStream, especially after how easy you found it to use. I didn’t realize the bottles we use on a daily basis may be burned, releasing toxic gases into the atmosphere and affecting the ozone. Just another reason to consider buying a SodaStream. I like the variety of flavors available. Thanks for the review.
