What’s For Dinner? Monkey Bread With Caramel! #whatsfordinner

January 16, 2012 by Dawn McAlexander

*One woman’s attempt to learn how to cook, one recipe at a time!

I got this recipe from Pillsbury’s WebSite! My daughter and I made this for brunch on Sunday morning. We thought it would be good with coffee – and easy.

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 cans (7.5 oz each) Pillsbury® refrigerated biscuits
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
DIRECTIONS:
  • Grease or spray 12-cup Bundt® cake pan.
  • Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in 1-gallon bag. Separate dough into 10 biscuits; cut each in quarters. Shake quarters in bag to coat; place in pan. Mix butter and brown sugar; pour over biscuit pieces.
  • Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Turn upside down; pull apart to serve. Serve warm.

Verdict:

This stuff is great! If you are looking for something easy (and fun to do with your kids), this may be just what you are looking for! It tastes sweet, but not too sweet, not as sweet as a cinnamon roll. 🙂 We all gave it 5 stars (out of 5)!

I didnt finish my comments it flipped it up already. What else I was going to say is if I make these instead then I dont have to go to market and buy those expensive baked goods that I droll over but dont alway have money to buy. Much cheaper and just a delicious.

Oh, this brings back memories … my grandma used to make this whenever we visited. I haven’t thought about it in years! My kids have never had it … I think I need to make this soon, maybe for Christmas morning? Yum! Maybe I’ll be starting a new tradition. Thanks for bringing back such a wonderful memory!

I have been trying to get my son to try cinnamon, he swears its spicy, yet has no clue what he is missing! He has been wanting to try new things lately so this seems like a fun activity with him and when he helps make it and smells it he has to try it right?

I just recently learned I am no longer allergic to cinnamon and I am making up for it by eating everything I have missed out on, can not wait to try this one.

I’ve tried this recipe before and we love it. But I always have to add on….lol, so I throw in chocolate chips and walnuts or pecans. It’s so yummy that way. It also works great to put in bread pans for anyone who might not have a bundt pan.
