I know that many of you reading this now have children. And you probably would like your children to be safe and you would like to be able to keep in touch with them in the event that there is an emergency. A cell phone is a great way to keep in touch with your kids, but a lot of times when you give your kids a cell phone, they begin to use it to keep in touch with their friends more than you. We have been down that road, so we feel your pain. That’s why Virgin Mobile has come up with their new Custom cell phone plans for kids that allows you to give your kids a cell phone to help keep them safe while you are able to limit their access to both the internet and texts.

Keeping Kids Safe With Custom Cell Phone Plans For Kids

Virgin Mobile’s custom cell phone plans for kids does exactly what its name implies. It allows you customize the plan just for you or for your children or for whomever you are giving the cell phone. You can set the amount of minutes, number of texts, and the amount of data that each phone on the plan has. You can also change these amounts at any time. Best of all, there are no contracts.

It’s easy to have cell phone plans for kids when they start as low as $6.98 per month. Also, with Virgin Mobile Custom’s revolutionary parental controls, you can set the phone to limit what your children are seeing on their phones and limit just how many calls and texts they can send and receive. Don’t like your kids looking at YouTube? Block the app on their phone-from your phone. Easy peasy.

Custom controls not only keeps your children from using their phones to talk only with their friends and not to you, but it also teaches them a little responsibility. If they run out of minutes, that’s it. They cannot run over their time without your permission.

  1. These plans would be so great for children. I don’t have any kids right now, but it would be fantastic to keep in mind in a few years time.

  2. This is an awesome plan for kids for cell phone plans, especially if they are just starting off with there first phone, love the features.

  3. I do not know what features I’d like to see in a cell phone plan for kids.. that’s a tough question. Possibly a lot of math and learning apps. Sounds geeky, know.

I think it’s a great idea to put things like that on a kid’s phone. It shows that learning can be fun.

  4. Ahhhhhh so.strange to think about kids having cell phones…. I’m.sure I will be getting on for my princesses soon enough lol…. But honestly I have no clue what kinda features I would be looking for….thankfully I have a few more years to figure that one out hehe 😉

  5. I don’t have kids so it is hard for me to know what they would need. I am thinking for their first phone it should be like some of those phones I have seen for elderly people, with basically 2 or 3 big buttons and that is it. For kids it could be Mom, Dad and Home. That way that can’t get into trouble calling anyone else!

  6. This is great! I my first plan for my son would be getting him a dummy phone and so he only used the phone for one purpose. This sounds great and it sounds like it will help teach responsibility.

  7. Mobile phones weren’t a thing when I was a kid, but times have changed and today, mobile phones have become a necessity. We’ve seen its value and how it has made our lives easier – that even kids need to have one. So, it’s good that there are plans / bundles that can be customized and made kid-friendly. We have family bundles here in my country, but I think telcos need to do something like this.

  8. This is a perfect plan for kids. Gosh I wish they had this years ago when cell phones 1st came out – Dawn’s bills was terrible! Every text cost money!

  9. Such a great option for parents with teens. I do have to say I love my iPhone but I also don’t think a teen needs on haha

  10. This is perfection! My son uses lots of data and games so I would love a better/cheaper option for that!

  11. This is great for kids. Mine currently share 3 GB of data, and they are always going over, so we need more.

  12. How awesome that there are different options for cell phone plans for kids! We are not there yet but soon enough I’ll need your great tips, thanks for sharing!

  13. I’m loving how much more customizable cell phone plans are now. I remember when they were “one size fits all”, which didn’t work for everyone!

  14. Great plan! It is great how you can customize to suit what you and your family need.

  15. This sounds soooo cool! I love that we have options!

  16. I am not a big fan of them they always at me and stuff from my door.

  17. Wow, what a cool cell phone! Looks like it’s customizable!

  18. michele d says:

Haven’t heard of this until now but anything that keeps my children safer I am all in. Gotta check it out!

  19. My kids aren’t old enough for phones yet. But this would be great for my nephew.

  20. I have been searching for a brand new mobile phone, I think I might have an idea in what I’d like to get now.

  21. Custom plans are really nice to have! Our kiddos are still little, but I’m sure that one day we will cross this bridge, and probably sooner rather than later…

  22. Paying for every text would be nuts for me lol!!! I’m really happy with our plans! Thank you for sharing!

  23. Wow that is awesome! I like how you can customize the plans because not everyone uses their phones the same way!

  24. Elizabeth O. says:

Kiddie plans for cellphones? Such a fantastic idea!!

  25. my cell plan is so high. I am seriously considering changing companies. you gave me another reason to find a different one.

  26. Melissa Smith says:

My kids are too young for cell phones (thank goodness), but my niece & nephew aren’t. I’m sure their parents would be thrilled to learn about a plan like this. Sharing! 🙂

  27. My boys still too young too for cell phone. I plan another 2 years for my oldest. Looks good price.

  28. There are so many phone options out there these days, plans for kids that work well. We have two kids on our plan and love some of the features available to monitor and limit what they do. This plan seems like a great, affordable one!

  29. This sounds really interesting. Great plan for families.

  30. This is a great plan. I have a son that will be asking for a phone soon.

  31. Rebecca Swenor says:

This is an awesome cell phone plan when you have kids. I love the how you can control what they see etc. Thanks for sharing.

  32. I don’t have children, but as a former Special Education Teacher, it’s important to remind parents that in addition to finding the right plan, teach your children cell phone etiquette no phone on in the classroom, theaters etc….

  33. Bonnie @ wemake7 says:

This is great! I have 5 kiddos and will have to look into this. Sounds great.

  34. We recently bought our son an iPhone 6 but this plan sounds awesome for kids! I love that you can control what they see… a big plus for me!

  35. I am all for parental oversight of technology, so I think this is great. Kids definitely need to have tech, and be guided on how to use it. This looks like it makes it easy for parents to be able to do that.

  36. I am all about parental control of technology. I think that kids should have access to it–with parents their to guide them as to proper use. This looks like it make it easy for parents to do.
