 Chili Recipe With Tuttorosso Tomatoes

Tuttorosso is an American based supplier of Italian-style canned tomato products, such as whole peeled tomatoes and original pasta sauce, that is primarily based in the southeastern United States, but they are expanding to the western U.S. currently. Recently they sent us a very nice package of their products to try and we put them to good use!

Tuttorosso Care Package

The package they sent included three 28 oz cans of tomato products, including Crushed Tomatoes, Tomato Sauce, and Peeled Pear Shaped Tomatoes. It also included a beautiful red cooking apron, a pot holder, a bottle cozy, a chart of cooking measurement conversions (this is REALLY handy),  and several recipe cards! Pretty sweet, huh?

The first recipe that we used the Tuttorosso products on was homemade chili beans. It’s cold outside, and a warm bowl of chili beans is a great way to warm yourself inside and out. We put the Tuttorosso Peeled Pear Shaped Tomatoes in our recipe, and it added a remarkable flavor that just accented our chili beans perfectly!

You will need..

One 28 oz can of Tuttorosso Peeled Pear Shaped Tomatoes

Four cans of dark red kidney beans

3 lbs. of lean ground beef

One 12 oz jar of hot banana pepper rings

Two packs of hot chili seasoning – or mild, if you’re scared ;)

First, brown the ground beef in a large skillet and drain the grease. Then combine all ingredients into a large slow cooker, stir them to get an even mixture, and cook on low for about 3-4 hours depending upon your slow cooker. Check them regularly to make sure they are not burning. Also, do not drain the juice from either the kidney beans or the banana peppers as this will add moisture and flavor to your chili.

After the chili beans are cooked, you can add shredded cheese and/or crackers to your bowl of chili beans for added flavor. Be sure to savor the flavor of your Tuttorosso Peeled Pear Shaped Tomatoes and thank these fine folks for supplying a tasty part of the ingredients for this recipe! Also be sure to pick up your own tasty Tuttorosso tomato product to add to your own recipe today!

I agree! You can’t go wrong with banana peppers! In chili, on pizza, straight out of the jar. Yum! We sometimes use fresh peppers from the garden {different varieties} when they are in season, too. We like to experiment. :)
