National Popcorn Day ~
January 19th is National Popcorn Day! Oh, popcorn, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I know 53 of them (just kidding!). But, anyway, to celebrate this most beloved snack and its wonderfulness on this day, I want to know what is your favorite type of popcorn?

Some people love cheese popcorn, some like caramel, some prefer theirs just plain. At any rate, I think it is safe to assume that millions of people around the globe enjoy this wonderful treat. Heck, even our dogs like a delicious popped kernel every once in a while!
No one is really certain where or when National Popcorn Day got started, but according to popcorn.org, it seems to coincide with the time of the Super Bowl, which makes sense. Although they didn’t know the origin of National Popcorn Day, they did know some history of popcorn, which was pretty interesting. Did you know that the ancient Aztecs used popcorn as a decoration, especially for headdresses, bracelets and charms used to honor their Gods? Or that the oldest known ears of popcorn are believed to be about 4,000 years old?
Also on this site I found some interesting games, such as popcorn air hockey, popcorn basketball and guessing the number of kernels in a jar, to entertain yourself and others. But, mostly, we all just like to eat it! I mean, there has to be a reason why the first thing you see when you walk into the movie theater is that gigantic popcorn machine beside the register. Oh, yes, it indeed makes the perfect snack for movie time!
My personal favorite flavor is movie theater butter. Yum! I also enjoy white cheddar, extra cheesy, and just plain salted. Some people like the kettle corn type, but I have to admit this one does not taste good to me. Caramel is good, too! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Think I will go and fix me a big ole bowl of popcorn right now… 
What Is Your Favorite Flavor Popcorn?
I love many flavors. I once tried a caramel cheese popcorn that sounded gross but was delicious! It’s such a great snack. I recently saw a cookie recipe with popcorn baked into it!
Kettle or Movie theater are my faves!

I love many flavors too. I think cheese is my favorite, but like a spicier type of cheese. I also like to eat movie theater popcorn with chocolate at the same time. Buncha Crunches work best. Bite of chocolate, bite of popcorn. It’s yummy!

Plain popcorn with a bit of parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. I love it, the kids hate it which means a snack I do not have to share!

I like plain ol’ stove-popped popcorn with a bit of salt and butter. Sometimes, I do like carmel corn or Kettle Corn, but those days are rare!

What a coincidence that I saw this today – we made marshmallow popcorn balls! I actually hate popcorn but love the smell. I eat plain because it is filling but my kids could eat it morning, noon and night! So glad I have an air popper

I love caramel popcorn! It’s great when they have those three-flavor tins at Walmart during the holidays. We usually by 2-3 during the month of December because we run through it all!
