Tantex Leather Conditioner {Sponsored Review and Giveaway} Ends 7/20 US ***OVER***

My husband applied the conditioner on a vehicle that we had purchased used about a year ago. When we received the vehicle, the leather was in about the shape you see now. It is a 2002 Jeep Liberty and has been well maintained except for the wearing of the leather seats. We wanted to see if some of the wearing could be either stopped or reversed.

My husband applied Tantex Leather Conditioner to both bucket seats in the front and the bench bucket seat in the back. He says that it did not take long to do this and was really easy to apply. Tantex Leather Conditioner claims to bring “dry, dull and stiff old leather back to life, and keeps new leather in its ideal state of suppleness, strength and shine.” Let’s see if we agree if it lives up to it’s promised…

Here is out bench seat, before. It isn’t in that bad of condition for a 10 year old vehicle.

Here is the driver’s side bucket seat. Notice the obvious cracking of the leather on the sides..

Here is the passenger’s side bucket seat. Look at the deep cracks along the side. Although, I think this seat is not as bad as the driver’s side.

Now let’s see the seats after we used Tantex Leather Conditioner..

Here is the bench seat after using the leather conditioner. This seat wasn’t that bad to begin with so below is where the REAL test comes in…

The crack are still there but we feel like many seem to be smoother and the overall feel of the leather is better.

Wow. I feel like this pic definitely shows improvement. Do you agree?

Our thoughts:

Overall we are pleased with the product. I am not sure that it made a gigantic difference in the overall appearance, however it did make some. To me the biggest difference has to do with the feel. The leather was really dry with age and now it feels smoother and tighter. Rough spots now feel a lot smoother . The really big cracks were not greatly improved but it did smooth some of the smaller cracks out about 50-60% by our estimation. We feel that if we were to continue using this product on our leather seats that the the leather would continue to improve in texture and appearance. We only used about 1/3 of the bottle for this application. If we were to use it 2 more times, I would expect that we would see large improvements. I give this product an A+.

Warning: Be sure to try this product in an inconspicuous spot first as it can change the color of the leather.  The directions say to do this, but we want to be clear that you understand that this is very important. We did not have a color change problem on our grey leather seats, but we made sure to test the product first. This product is also not recommended for suede and a few other products so be sure you read the warning label carefully before applying this product to your valuables.

  1. Oh wow, I have to get some of this. The leather in our BMw is cracking:(

    • Yeah, that stinks. My Jeep looks sweet except for the seats. Hopefully this will continue to improve their appearance!

  2. it is odorless and non toxic

  3. It is odorlous which is great as I would use it on my leather sofa. Thanks.

  4. Interesting as you said it made the leather seats smoother. Also, it smoothed out the small cracks but not the large ones. I wonder if it would do that for my leather couch and bring the color back to life. I have lots of little cracks, but no large ones.

  5. That is the saddest story about that poor little girl and that terrible disease that she has. I will say a prayer for her and hope that she gains the use of her muscles again and can resume a normal happy life if that is possible. So very very sad for her mother and family members.

  18. Paula Gillespie says:

I think it helped some by not a drastic difference but I think one of the main benefits is to nourish it and help prevent further wrinkles in the leather.
