If you have a good sense of humor, love anything to do with science, and can appreciate the cute things in life, I have the perfect thing for you….Giant Microbes! These little fury friends come in many different sizes, shapes and colors. You might be asking yourself “what exactly are Giant Microbes?” They are cute little plush creatures that have been made to look like all your favorite {or not so favorite} viruses! Giant microbes offer many different “germy” stuffed animals to suit everyone!
Because these furry little friends are so cute and loveable, they make a great way to teach your children about germs! Each Giant Microbe comes with an informational card that teaches you about what the germ is, symptoms, how its spread, and more! These adorable little germs make great presents to just about anyone (they also make really good gag gifts to adults)! We were fortunate enough to get to review Giant Microbes before, and this time we ordered strictly stuffed goodies. This time we chose Rotavirus, the Common Cold, and a petri dish filled with Hay Fever.

Common Cold (Rhinovirus) is the biggest of all the Microbes we ordered this time coming in at 1,000,000x the actual size of the Common Cold germ! Rhinovirus is mostly common during the fall and winter. Though this little fellow is cute please remember – you can take precautions not to catch the actual Common Cold by washing your hands frequently!
The next biggest Microbe we picked out was the Rotavirus. On the information card that comes with this germ, you’ll learn that it is believed that all children have had this germ at least once by the time they are 5. The Rotavirus is also commonly referred to as the “Stomach Bug.”
The last thing we got, the Hayfever Petri Dish, comes with 3 little germs inside; Grass Pollen, Ragweed Pollen, and Birch Pollen. Many people who get Hay Fever are subjected to certain allergic reactions such as eczema, asthma, depression, and headaches. {Oh man! That is so me this time of the year!} Fortunately, most pollen is too big or too sticky to cause any kind of allergic reaction. So, as you can tell, these little germs are very informative and cute! I love them!

They are extremely cute and a great deal of fun. My first christmas with my fiancee I got him and I hay fever as we both suffer from the allergy. He loved it. Not as much as his birthday flareon but.. I have a number of them now.
I would never have thought about acquiring a giant, stuffed microbe until reading your review, LOL. It’s a very interest way to learn about germs. Who would have ever though germs could even be kind of cute, LOL. Thanks for sharing.

EWWWWW! The more I looked at their catalog, the more appalled I am! These “cute toys” reach kids NOT to be afraid of some very scary, very SERIOUS diseases! What kind of person even thought of this?? It’s just wrong!

Thank you for your opinion, though I can’t say that I agree. These “cute toys” come with information cards that teach kids about the diseases. Yes, they are cuter than the actual disease, but kids have stuffed lions and elephants, too, but should probably stay away from them in real life, as well. I see these as a teaching tool and as fun. Having said that, I think each parent should always make the best decision for their kid. If you feel that these are not right for your kid – then they probably aren’t.

These are the cutest germs ever!
Lol- these are …. different… Cute but different! As a mom who’s son had Rotavirus when he was 6 months I can honestly say it was not fun. But that little guy above I may be willing to allow into my home

I think these are so adorable, and as a science major, it helps me study when I think of the microbes as these cute little stuffed animals!
