Easy Chicken Bake ~
Most of us like to think outside the box. Sometimes you have to examine the box a little closer. There could be a delicious surprise waiting on a box near you.
My BFF invited me over for dinner and a night of girl talk. The meal was so good that I asked for the recipe. My BFF giggled her way to the pantry. Turns out this recipe was from a box; Kraft Stove Top Stuffing Mix.
Easy Chicken Bake Recipe
I’m not a big fan of boxed stuffing, but I have to admit, I liked it so much that I made it the next night. It was a very easy recipe. I think even a food-deprived teenager could make it.
You will need:
1 box Kraft Stovetop Stuffing {cooked}
1-1 1/2 lb. skinless chicken breasts cut into 1 inch pieces
one can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/3 cup of sour cream
one bag {16 oz} frozen mixed vegetables drained
*Since I like to think outside the box, I skipped the veggies this time.
Preparation:
To make the recipe even more time-consuming, I just used a package of chicken cutlets (4). I simply laid the cutlets in a 9″ pie dish, and layered the ingredients. I quickly spread the sour cream on top of the chicken and the can of cream of chicken soup over the sour cream.
Lastly, I added the cooked Kraft Stovetop Stuffing Mix and popped the dish in the oven for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
The only thing missing was a good glass of wine! I believe Easy Chicken bake is a very easy, budget-friendly recipe that could feed 2 to 4 people. I went to the grocery store unarmed (No coupons). I did get lucky, the Stove Top Stuffing Mix and the Campbell’s Cream of Chicken soup were BOGO. I spent $12.35, less than 5 minutes prepping and had a Delicious meal 30 minutes later.

I’ve made slow cooker chicken for years. I love it. I skip the sour cream and vegetables. You can start it in the morning and it’s ready for dinner. I found the recipe in a slow cooker cook book.

Since I have pinned this recipe I thought I would comment on it too. Sometimes these mixtures of semi- pzckage and semi home prepared dishes can be delicious. I love hw you can always change it a little. You left out the veggies, but you could also add different veggies.

I love baking with Campbell’s condensed soups because there is sooo many different things you can do wit them… My personal favorite is Cream of Mushroom.. i love to use that for almost everything!!!!

Great comment about taking a closer look at the box. For holidays, I’d rather make my own stuffing, but Stove Top is really yummy, too. We often cover chicken with cream of chicken soup and bake it, but I had never thought about adding stuffing as a crust. Interesting. Sounds yummy.
Dawn McAlexander says
I like to cover chicken with cream of mushroom soup or cream of celery and bake it, too. I haven’t tried the cream of chicken over it, but I am sure that is delicious as well. 🙂
Rosie says
