Jewelweed grows wild in close proximity to poison ivy throughout much of the United States. For centuries native American peoples have used Jewelweed (Impatiens Capensis) as a natural preventative and treatment for the itch and rashes of poison ivy, oak and sumac. GRANDMA’S now brings this powerful natural remedy to you in Grandma’s Poison Ivy and Oak Bar! This wonderful soap elieves the itch of poison almost immediately and heals the rash in 3-4 days!
GRANDMA’S Don’t Bug Me Bar is a natural solution to an annoying little critter – the mosquito! Using a special formula of essential oils GRANDMA’S Don’t Bug Me Bar repels mosquitoes effectively without the use of DEET or other chemicals. Pleasant smell. Won’t stain clothing.
I have to say that, first off, I have asthma and allergies. The reason I am adding this in this review is that this is always a deciding factor in my choice of soaps. I am generally leery of trying new soaps without at least smelling them first, but I had heard such rave reviews about Grandma’s Lye Soaps that I was glad to have the opportunity to try it for myself. 🙂
I have now been using the original bar – Grandma’s Lye Soap – exclusively for about 2 weeks. The absolute best thing about this soap is that my skin is WAY less itchy. I have always had a problem with dry skin, especially in temperature extremes. Just yesterday, it was 101 degrees here! Bleh! But there is a definite difference in the dryness of my skin. I am finding myself using way less lotion. I used to slather it on 5-10 times a day. I think this soap is actually fixing my dryness problem instead of putting a band-aid on it, like most lotions do.
One more thing to point out – this bar of soap is crazy big! It is like twice the size of an average bar. That is a definite point to take into account when you are deciding about this soap’s cost effectiveness. If you are looking for a natural soap without all the harsh additives found in most of the more well known brands, I think you might really enjoy Grandma’s Lye Soaps.

My daughter has eczama and I would love to have this for her to try. And of course, the Don't Bug Me Soap would be great to keep mosquitos off! I hate those! I'm going to have a look at their site. Thanks for the info.
Love all natural soaps....but they usually are just too expenisive! The Grandma's looks like it's a great deal and great for your skin. Thanks for sharing. =)
