With mitigation efforts and gym closures, it can be tricky to practice social distancing and exercise. I haven’t been out of my home very many times since the pandemic started, but when I have, I could see that our local walking trails were crammed full of people – not social distancing. I am trying my best to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC and Dr Fauci and Dr Birx, so the walking trails aren’t going to work for me right now. And that is making exercising quite difficult. So, on this #MotivationMonday, I decided to share with you how I am working out at home. I would love if you joined me!
Social Distancing And Exercise: Complete Virtual Races Safely At Home
I am one of those people that loves getting rewarded. I like to see a tangible item for all my hard work – so race medals are an excellent motivator for me. I joined Yes.Fit virtual races a year and a half ago and have earned several medals along the way. Just recently I earned 2 more – one of the virtual races was over 150 miles! And no, I did not do 150 miles at once, ha!
With virtual races, you can complete the races how you want to, at your own pace. And virtual races do not have to be ran. This girl is not a runner, though I hope I to be able to run a 5K someday. So, when the gyms were still open, I would do my miles between 4 machines: the row machine, the treadmill, the stationary bike and the elliptical. Yes.Fit’s site says you can even crawl if you want to. Personally, I’m not about that life, but if any of you are, please share pics! Currently, I only have a bike at home, so that is what I am using now. But I am working on that and will share the details with you guys next Monday.

Fun! I'm not about crawling either, but that might work better for me than running. lol
Right now I am just walking, but if I ever get to running, I will let you know. For now, if you see me running, assume zombies are chasing me and run, too!
