Did you know that February 22nd was National Margarita Day? We didn’t until we got to Margaritaville at The Island In Pigeon Forge, TN. We were spending a few days in Pigeon Forge to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and decided to check out The Island and happened to learned that there were a lot of cool things going on for the holiday. So, I am going to share with you what all we did, so that you can plan for next year.
National Margarita Day Fun At The Island In Pigeon Forge
We learned it was National Margarita Day when we stopped in Margaritaville to check out the store. We love shopping in the store every time we visit a Margaritaville. Ah, the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle. I am all about that. We already had plans for the day, but we decided to change them a bit since we thought it would be fun to get in on the holiday fun.
Next, we headed over to Ole Smoky Moonshine. Jay had never done a moonshine tasting before, so I thought it would be a fun experience for him. So, we tasted a few and were set on purchasing the Pineapple flavor but then we saw, wait for it…. Margarita Moonshine. What! We thought that was a really interesting flavor idea for moonshine. And, of course, it was National Margarita Day, so we just had to buy it. The Margarita Moonshine was not one that was out for tasting, so are excited to try it some day very soon.
Then we went back to the hotel and dropped our purchases off. We had tickets for Dixie Stampede {one of our absolute favorite things to do in Pigeon Forge} so we got ready to go see the show. Afterwards, we decided to head back to The Island to have ourselves a margarita to celebrate National Margarita Day and our anniversary. The margaritas that we had are generally $8, so margaritas for $3.50 is a pretty nice savings. Plus, Margaritaville is always fun to hang out at.
After we enjoyed our margaritas, we went over to the water at The Island, sat in the awesome adirondack chairs and looked at all the beautiful lights. The ferris wheel and the water look so beautiful at night. Also, all of Sevier County was decorated for a winter celebration, so there were lights and decorations everywhere. It was just so gorgeous. I hope we get to visit Pigeon Forge during this time of year again.

I did not know it was National Margarita Day! I need this important stuff on my calendars! And looks like you spent the day doing a lot of fabulous and fun activities! Cheers to that!
How fun! We love the Island in Pigeon Forge, it is one of our favorite places! We are actually headed there this weekend!

That event looks like it was a ton of fun! Never knew there was a designated National Margarita Day! Gotta remember that! Margarita is one of my faves!
I'll admit, I only knew it because of Instagram! Ha! I haven't been to Pigeon Forge since I was a kid. I think it's time to head back!
