Summer is the perfect time for entertaining. And what better way to entertain than with food. I mean, everyone likes to eat and chatting around a good meal is just so much fun. It’s a great way to spend time with the ones you care about, while taking care of them. We out together a nice recipe for a hot summer day. This Grilled Honey BBQ Chicken Recipe is light and perfect for a hot summer day. We are also sharing how to make the perfect, refreshing Arnold Palmer.
Honey BBQ Chicken Breasts
Love to grill? Then we have a tasty and super easy recipe for you. Honey BBQ Chicken Breasts are a staple of summer. You can prep the mix for these fast and have them on the grill in minutes. Also, if there is rain in your forecast, you can cook them on an inside grill. They are tasty either way and we are all about easy in this house.
You will need…
6 pounds chicken breasts
2 pouches KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub
1/2 cup Honey {we like the kind that is raw and unfiltered, but any will probably work}
1 cup Coca-Cola®
Mix the honey and the KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub in a bowl. After you have the mixed well, then add in the Coca-Cola and stir well. Then, take a brush {if you have one} or a spoon and cover the tops of the chicken breasts in the mixture. You can also flip the pieces and add the mixture to the bottom if you like. Cook on the grill until well done {you might want to check your chicken package for suggestions on how to be sure that chicken is cooked thoroughly}.
On the back of the KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub box, you will find several recipes. Our recipe is actually a variation on one of theirs! This is perfect because you can take their recipes and use them or change them a little. The point is to create tasty meals, just the way you like them. This product can be used to make BBQ sauce, dry rub or marinade and can be used on chicken, pork, beef and vegetables. I think I might even try this mix on the pineapple next time and cook it on the grill. Yum.
We suggest serving your Honey BBQ Chicken Breasts with a light salad and pineapple chunks. We buy the Spring Mix salad greens and the gourmet medley variety tomatoes from Sam’s Club. It’s fun to have a multitude of colors on your salad and each color tastes a bit different from the others. I like to use Ranch dressing on my salad. I bought a huge 3 pack at Sam’s Club while I was picking up the other stuff for the BBQ.
You could also cut your Honey BBQ Chicken Breasts into chunks and add them to the salad. If you would prefer a chicken salad, might I suggest a vinaigrette dressing? I think the sweet and sour flavors will go nicely together.
The perfect drink to accompany this meal on a hot summer day is an Arnold Palmer. Not sure what an Arnold Palmer is? Read on, my friend.
Arnold Palmer Recipe
I am always shocked when I go to a restaurant and they are not sure what an Arnold Palmer is. Arnold Palmer is a southern tradition that is super easy to make.
To make an Arnold Palmer, you will need…
Simply Lemonade®
Gold Peak® Tea
We love Simply Lemonade® because it is all natural and has no added preservatives colors or artificial flavors. It’s also way easier than making your own! And just as tasty. For the Arnold Palmer, I like to get the unsweetened Gold Peak Tea as I like it to be a little more tart. You can definitely use the sweet, or another variety, {we also sometimes use lime} if you choose. It’s not an exact science but I like to mix one part lemonade to one part tea. Easy and so tasty.
All of the items that we used for our BBQ were purchased at Sam’s Club. It’s a great place to purchase a large quantity of items for an event where you might host a lot of people. You also save money purchasing in bulk, which is something that I am always looking for.
Be sure to check out these Coca-Cola & KC Masterpiece products at Sam’s Club!

Oh yumm!! This definitely looks delicious! I love BBQ chicken (especially grilled!) and sweetly tart drinks so this meal would be perfect for our family.
Fantastic combo! I am an Arnold Palmer fan from way back. Recently I started adding ice tea vodka to my lemonade for a little kick! Not every time, but on Fridays that is what I will usually have in my hand!
That sounds really good. I might have to try that myself soon.
This looks amazing! We love to cook on the grill. I'm going to have to give this a try :)
I can't believe most young people have no clue what an Arnold Palmer is or who he is for that matter. Man this bring back memories.
It's so easy to take for granted that everyone knows what you know. I am always shocked to learn someone has no idea about something I have known all my life, lol.
Weekend is nearing and a good recipe for a bbq would be nice to try and this one is up on my list. Kids will enjoy a weekend like this.
This looks like the perfect summertime dinner! Easy and delicious! We love Arnold Palmer's and I like the idea of the honey BBQ sauce!
This looks absolutely delicious. Just the ticket for 4th of July!
I love to have Arnold Palmer's to drink on a hot summer day! And, that honey BBQ chicken looks amazing. I might need to try it tomorrow as grilled chicken is on the menu.
I seriously loved this one, it looks out of this world. I need to try it because I love honey in food
Its so funny to me - its summer and everyone is talking about grilling. Summer is when I grill the least - it was 99 (f) out today. the thought of being outside ... enough said. Granted when Winter days are 7o for me grilling is perfect. I love using honey in a BBQ sauce it always adds depth of flavor.
I think that a lot of times people want hot meals, but they don't want to heat up their houses, too. :)
