The holidays are fast approaching, and we all know that means it’s time for family and friends to gather near. But, we also know that it is time for holiday cooking. Cooking around the holidays can be hectic and sometimes stressful, especially if you don’t have the right appliances for the job. Here in our household we are well aware that the holidays will be here soon, but we also realize that we are in need of some new appliances to help us get the cooking done right.

Appliance Shopping At Best Buy

We have looked lots of places and a surprise place that we have found with an awesome selection of appliances for holiday prepping is Best Buy. They offer a wide selection of kitchen appliances from many name brands. Whether it’s a stove, microwave, refrigerator or dishwasher that you are looking for, you can find it all at Best Buy. Plus, they have a friendly and knowledgeable customer service staff that is there to help answer your questions and put you on the right path.

All I Want For Christmas Are Some New Best Buy Appliances

We are considering a new oven for our kitchen as one of the major appliances that we need to purchase. The one we currently have was in the house when I bought it, and it works okay, but it is old, outdated and small. Since I do the majority of the cooking at home the one thing that I would love to have is a large oven that can handle several dishes at a time. And Best Buy has two that caught my eye right away.

Best Buy Appliances: The Frigidaire Gallery

The first of the Best Buy appliances that caught my eye is an oven from Frigidairecalled the Gallery. It has a 5.4 cubic feet convection oven, which is great for cooking several dishes at once. What attracted me most was the five elements on top. Speaking from personal experience, there have been several occasions when I was cooking that I could really have used a fifth element to cook on. Four is good, but it just isn’t enough sometimes. The elements are smooth top and uses induction cooking, which means no messy spills running down under the eyes and getting baked onto the top of the oven.

This oven also has a delayed baking setting that allows you to cook when it is convenient for you. Let’s say you start to cook your green bean casserole and realize you forgot to pick up some cranberry sauce for your meal. You can put the casserole in the oven, set the delay, run to the store and get your cranberry sauce and not worry about either setting the house on fire or forgetting to put the casserole in the oven when you get home. Convenient, huh? Plus, Frigidaire makes wonderful appliances. We currently have a Frigidaire washer and dryer that we love. They both have been super and we have not regretted the purchase since we bought them. We would definitely buy Frigidaire appliances again.

Best Buy Appliances: Whirlpool Oven

The second oven I liked is a gas oven. I have never used a gas oven before, but I know a few people who have and they swear that gas ovens are the way to go, so I am seriously considering it. This one is a Whirlpool. Although I can’t say I personally have owned any Whirlpool products, my grandmother had a Whirlpool refrigerator that she used for as long as I could remember, and it never gave her any trouble. What attracted me most to this oven was the cast iron grates that cover the entire width of the cooktop. I just thought it looked cool. The grates are also dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. This oven also features a double broiler, which can be used to cook two huge items at once, such as a turkey and a ham. I also liked the up-swept design which keeps spills from running down the front of the oven and streaking the door. You can also set a lock on your controls which prevents someone from messing with your settings and destroying your cooking masterpiece.

Both of these ovens are self-cleaning as well. I know me, and I know in order to make an omelette I have to break a few eggs {and spill them all over the place}. Who said cooking was easy? Plus, accidents happen more often for me than the average person, but you get what you get. 😉 So, a self cleaning oven is a must for me.

Decisions, decisions! Both of the Best Buy appliances that I featured here are great and have great features that I love about them. I don’t know which one I want more. Anyway, these are just a couple of the ideas that Best Buy has to help get you through the holidays with less stress, less mess and a lot more time with the family.
