Fun Facts: Vinegar was discovered over 10,000 years ago. It was a cask of wine that had gone bad. So, essentially, wine is fruit that has gone bad and vinegar is wine that has gone bad. The Babylonions were the first to spice it and the Romans were the first to drink it as a beverage {that totally just gave me the sours, lol}. And the Greeks used it to pickle foods {my kind of peeps there}. And vinegar has been used to treat scurvy and wounds by Americans during war time. Truly, vinegar is quite historical.

Vinegar also has many health benefits. One that I found particularly interesting is that vinegar can help with heightening levels of Serotonin in the body. Low levels of Serotonin go hand and hand with depression and anxiety. So, enjoying more vinegar could make you happy. 🙂

One of my personal favorite ways to enjoy vinegar is over sliced cucumber and onion. I think that is a country thing, so I wanted to add that here for all of you city folks who might be reading this. Just chop up a cucumber and an onion {I like any of the green stalk varieties best} and then pour over some vinegar. I generally water the vinegar down just a bit. And I add a little salt and pepper. Yum!
