So, as most of you probably already know, the Eastern part of the country got hammered a few days by the wrath of Mother Nature – this time in snow form. Being from North Carolina, we don’t often see snow falls of blizzard proportions, at least not in the part of North Carolina that I am from, but this week we did.
2014 Snow Pictures From North Carolina
Amber was out of school over half of the week and my husband’s job was even shut down for two days. I have to admit that I was looking forward to the snow. I hadn’t seen any that had really amounted to much in years. And I was looking forward to getting trapped at the house with my family for a few days.
We ate snow cream. I don’t think my husband had ever eaten it but I have many times in my life. Amber also went out in the snow for a bit. Our neighbors built a snow family, but it got so warm on Friday {the day after they built them} that they were almost gone by the afternoon.
My husband went back to work on Friday, but Amber was still out of school. I assume that she will be back to school tomorrow but this is a rural area, so we shall see. Some of the people in this area live way out in the boonies and it’s doubtful their roads have been scraped.
In all we got at least 12 inches of snow. We might have gotten more, but we didn’t measure again.

WOW! That is a ton of snow. We got some snow/ice last week too - but not that much! :)

Oh wow! You guys may never be able to shovel out! I wish you the best!
That is crazy! Looks like a winter wonderland! I moved to Florida almost 7 years ago and do not miss the snow!
My goodness ... you did get hammered! Some wild winter we are having.
Yeah, that's about what we got here, too. It's not bad, though. A couple of years ago we had over 2 feet on the ground at once.
WOW! That's a lot of snow. I had forgotten how pretty is it, from afar. It looks COLD to me! I'm glad you enjoyed your days with the family and that things will be back to normal soon.
LOL. Just today, I shared a photo of the table on our deck on Facebook. My caption was that with some coloring, it would look just like a Hostess Sno Ball. You know what? Yours does too. Too funny! (Or is it just me that thinks that?)
Hahaha! It really does. Take some food coloring to it and Voila! Maybe that is a good idea for the next snow storm. ;)
