Katie Couric returns to daytime television next week with “Katie.” Critics are calling this show, “sunny, sexy and smart.” The new show will be distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. “Katie” will include powerful segments intersecting news, entertainment, fashion, and healthy living among other topics, alongside thoughtful interviews with newsmakers, celebrities and everyday people who have extraordinary stories to tell.

Katie’s theme song will be entitled “This Day,” and performed especially for the show by Grammy-winning artist Sheryl Crow.

“Katie is somebody I can talk to about the things so many of us juggle: our children, careers, health, and balancing our personal and professional lives. Plus she is really fun! I think her show will reflect the same kind of heart and energy I try to give my music, so ‘This Day’ was a fun project to work on together, as friends,” says Sheryl Crow of long time friend Couric.

• Women Who Should Be Famous – People who make a difference through leadership, commitment to excellence and passion for life.
• You Only Live Once (YOLO) – Tackling one’s life-affirming bucket list. This spot will focus on viewers and Couric’s very own wish list and making those dreams reality for the first time.

“YOLO, which stands for ‘You Only Live Once,’ was coined by Drake and is sort of a modern twist on the notion of a bucket list,” Couric commented. “It will be fun to try some of these things myself, but I’m more excited to use the access we have to give other people opportunities to check off their lists,” she added.”
