Anole shedding ~
For anyone who knows very little about anoles, they are tiny little lizards. Ours is fast and likes to hide, so I had to get what pictures I could as fast as I could. Occasionally, this little weirdo peels off all his skin. It is super gross. Since he was peeling this time right before Wordless Wednesday, I thought of you guys. That was nice of me, wasn’t it?
So, here is the 2nd picture I took of the anole in all his grossness. We did have 2 anoles, Fric and Frac, but one died shortly after we got the pair *sniff* and I am not sure which one this is. Anyway, I will call him Frac. Frac kept hiding in the grass so it was hard to get shots of him. He is not a people lizard.
Yay! The Frac came out of the grass and climbed on the rock! This is a good shot of his back. He started rubbing his neck all over that rock. It took Frac a long time to get all of the skin peeled off his neck – probably a good 15-20 minutes. It may have even been longer. He stopped occasionally to give me the side eye.
Here is the last picture I took before the real carnage began. See the pesky cricket with the arrow pointing toward him? Yeah, that cricket is no more. That cricket just kept watching the anole, getting on his neck and back. You know, being an all around pain. So, in spite of the cricket’s torment, Frac gets the rest of the skin peeled off. He then proceeds to eat the skin *GROSS* and then eats the cricket *DOUBLE GROSS.*
I am not sure whether Frac was hungry or just teaching the cricket and his gang of cricket bullies a lesson.

Oh My Gosh! My skin is crawling just looking at the pictures. haha I am such a chicken when it comes to bugs and rodents and ESPECIALLY lizards!
Haha! Years ago, I had an iguana! That thing makes this anole look like an ant! I also had 2 taratulas. Would you have held one of those? :P
