My husband and I went to see The Avengers on Friday afternoon. We don’t go to movies as much as we would like, but we do try to make a special trip for the super hero movies as we can always agree on them. We both love special effects! But, in the the age of ever increasing movie ticket prices, is The Avengers really worth you chunking down your hard earned cash?
My answer is a resounding YES! The Avengers is awesome and the special effects look real. Most impressively, The Hulk looks REAL! There is also tons of action. I have to admit that with so many stars in one movie that I was worried about whether there would be enough screen time for each character to be adequately developed. And I was not disappointed. The movie moved along at a good pace but isn’t difficult to follow. I think that the movie isn’t too scary for children either. My daughter loved to be scared as a small tot, though, so you be the judge of that as you know your child best.
I think my absolute FAVORITE part of the The Avengers is The Hulk! Oh man, what a great casting job! Mark Ruffalo makes an excellent Hulk. Personally, I loved Bill Bixby and Eric Bana and didn’t care so much for Edward Norton as The Hulk (Yes, I know that is not what the general public thought – as far as the movies go) but I think that The Hulk just didn’t look exactly right in the other movies. I was very pleased with his appearance in this movie! Awesome job! I really hope The Hulk gets a new movie of his own starring Mark Ruffalo!
Of course, Robert Downey Jr. still makes a great Iron Man. I especially loved Tony Stark’s one liners and his banter with Bruce Banner! And I loved Thor and Loki. Thor’s character is really cool and Loki made a great villain. I did not see the original movie Thor. I am definitely going to try to buy it now and see it. 🙂
Some thoughts from fellow movie goers:
J: “Absolutely incredible special effects. Best Hulk ever! Loved Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Iron Man.”
A: “Best action packed movie and to top it all off – packed with humor! P.S. Captain America and Iron Man! Yum!” 😉
K: “Hulk! He does smash!”
**Cheap Is The *New* Classy tip – If you want to save a few bucks, you can choose not to watch The Avengers in 3D – also, go during matinee times (that’s what my hubby and I did) 🙂

I was blessed to be part of the group that went to the screening in NYC. It is such a great film and you MUST see Thor!
Absolutely, hands-down agree, spend the movie to go see this movie on the big screen! And, I, too, thought Mark plays the best Hulk ever.

sounds like a great movie
wow looks like a great movie will be showing this to my husband
If you're a fan of epic adventure movies, then this is your dream come true. This is the type of film you fantasized about growing up! It really is the ultimate superhero mash-up and it's done perfectly. The makers of this film certainly understand spectacle but they also get the intricacies and depth these type of characters can provide. That right there assures this instant classic will be thought of as the best as well as the biggest film of 2012. The depth of this movie really did surprise me. Even though the high quality of the actors involved and there previous work as these very same characters seemed to indicate otherwise, I was expecting a mild popcorn movie. I was wrong in thinking it was too much to convey in one film. I couldn't be more pleased because they balanced everything masterfully. Sure, there's the popcorn fun we were all expecting but there's also a definite soul to the film and a smart plot as well. It's truly a stupendous film regardlesss of genre.
Marvel did it, they pulled off the culmination of a master plan that's been taking shape for years. They deliver a movie the likes of which we've never seen before and as good of a film that's ever been made in its genre.
