Ah, Spring At Last!

 

It appears that Spring is here and various plants that we planted last year have bloomed. 🙂

Here is one of the Jane Magnolias that we planted last Spring in our front yard. It has grown quite a lot!

Here is our other Jane Magnolia in the front yard. It hasn’t bloomed quite as much as the first one but, if memory serves me correctly, it was the late bloomer in the fall, too. Perhaps it liked arriving late to the party. 😉

And here is one of MANY plants that my dear friend Johnetta has given us over the years. This is a Japanese Cherry (oops! It’s a Weeping Cherry, my bad! Thanks Johnetta, lol!).. I can not wait until the flowers bloom. 🙂 We had a Dogwood that unfortunately died and we are trying to think of what type of tree to put in it’s place. It will be in the front yard with the two Jane Magnolias (but closer to the house, so it can’t be a really big tree). Any suggestions?

  • What lovely pictures! It's an early spring here, but we're not quite yet in blooming weather. Would cedar fit in your area? I do love the color it offers in the winters!

  • Thanks! We're kind of hoping for a flowering tree in the front. We do have cedar in the back yard though, and yes, they are very pretty. :)

  • I love Spring!! I planted Tulips last year, but I think they died because I haven't seen any signs of them. :(

    • We planted some daylilies last year and they haven't come up yet, either...nor have tons of our other plants, so don't lose heart yet. :)

  • I just woke up to it snowing here {Lethbridge, Alberta} and you are subjecting me to gorgeous and happy spring pictures....how unfair...HAHHAA......The pictures are fantastic and I am sooo anxious to see the beauty of spring flowers again in person...*smile

    • Lol! We got hardly any snow this year. I wish we had gotten some for Christmas - oh well. :)

  • If you planted something last year and it doesn't come up this year, I wouldn't worry too much. I have had plants to do that but they end up coming back the next year.
