How To Buy The Perfect Pair Of Jeans Every Time

Cheap Is The New Classy

The average woman owns at least six pairs of jeans. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that they are an essential item of clothing. For many women jeans are a go to wardrobe item, which is why they want to know how to find and buy the right pair.

Buying the Perfect Pair of Jeans

Re-Measure Yourself
Before you go shopping measure yourself. Over time your body changes, especially if you have hit the gym recently or put on some weight. Therefore, it is always wise to double check your sizing.

Not Too Tight
A classic mistake that many women make is wearing jeans that are too tight. They are good at holding the tummy in, but tend to create a muffin top. A much better option is to buy a pair of jeans that fit you properly, and use control underwear to hold in your tummy. Jeans that are the right size always look better than ones that are too tight. Not to mention the fact that they are more comfortable to wear, and keep their shape better.

Choose A Cut That Flatters Your Figure
Not every cut works for every woman. You need to understand your body type and which style of jeans work best for you. If you have an hour-glass figure, low cut jeans, with straight legs are a great option. Whereas, if you are a bit curvier a boot cut is a far better choice. Women who are short-waisted need to stay away from baggy jeans. For them, low cut jeans with a boot cut are the best option. If you have wide hips, your best bet is to opt for mid waisted jeans with a wide leg and be careful not to buy anything that is too baggy.

Be Prepared To Shop Around
Finding exactly the right pair of jeans can take time. You may be lucky and the first ones you try on will fit perfectly. Other times you will have to try on several pairs to find a good fit. Department stores are great places to shop. Typically, there is a good range of denim jeans available in this type of store. This means you can grab an armful of different styles and try them all on so that you can work out which cut suits you best. Most of these retailers have online stores, which makes it easy to look through their collection and find the exact style you are after.

Change Your Style As You Age
Naturally, as you get older the shape of your body changes. This is the case regardless of whether you go to the gym or not. You need to bear this in mind and keep on trying different styles and cuts as you get older, so you always buy a pair that complements your figure. If you find a pair of jeans that fit perfectly, consider buying several pairs. You can buy them in different colours or shades, or buy two that are exactly the same and keep one pair for next year.

  1. I hate jean shopping almost as much as I hate bra shopping…. a LOT! I am so picky and it takes so long to find just the right pair. I will have to keep these tips in mind next time I go!

  2. Only 6 pairs??? LOL My weight fluctuates A LOT so I have way too many jeans. I haven’t purchased any in a while though cause I’m not a huge fan of the new styles. I guess that means I am getting older. lol

  3. Right now I just have 2 pairs of jeans and they don’t fit me as well as I’d like. My curves with a smaller waist make it harder to find things at the store.

Great tip to not wear jeans that are super tight. I see people do that all the time and shake my head wondering how they can stand it.
