A Girl’s Guide To Finding A Good Plumber ~
We all love a guy who can fix stuff. Heck, even a girl that can fix stuff is pretty sweet. However, not all of us are “fix-y” and often there are jobs that just require a professional. Bu what should you look for when you look for a plumber?
How To Find A Good Plumber
We all know the obvious ways to find a good plumber like asking your friends for references, checking the yellow pages, etc. But WikiHow has a great list of tips to help you find the right plumber for the job. I especially like the tip about getting an extra quote. Just because someone says they offer the best prices in town does not always mean they are right. And if you find that you really like a certain plumber that you have researched but he charges more than others, you never know, you might be able to get a discount.
Ask For Upfront Pricing In Writing
It’s also good to ask for fixed, upfront pricing. I am always leary of any repairman who gives “quotes.” I want to know how much I am going to pay, not a ballpark figure. I also want to make sure that I choose a repairman or plumber who will ONLY fix what I have agreed to and who will call me if there are other needed repairs before doing them. Always make sure you get the pricing in writing.
Is Your Plumber Insured?
Perhaps most importantly, make sure that your plumber is licensed and insured. The best plumbers can make mistakes and if that mistake happens at your house, you want to make sure it is covered.
Often, online you can find a successful plumber simply by looking around to different websites and reading online reviews. The days of asking your friends’ opinions in person are over. Now you can ask your friends, your colleagues, look on bulletin and message boards and even check out tons of websites for referral. And don’t forget to ask your fellow ladies. Face it, we all will eventually need a plumber. Chances are one of your friends knows a good, reputable one to refer you to.
