Chicken Soup For The Soul 20th Anniversary Edition ~
We all have our problems. We deal with them everyday. They range from household to work, from financial to family. And in all of these situations and more we are constantly riding a roller coaster of emotions from one day to the next. It takes a toll on us all, physically and mentally. Helping people to cope with the daily struggles of life are a part of the reason why Chicken Soup for the Soul books were written in the first place. I recently read Chicken Soup For The Soul 20th Anniversary Edition of the original book, which contains new stories to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Chicken Soup For The Soul 20th Anniversary Edition
I had not read the original book itself, so I really didn’t know what it was all about. I have read some of the other books in the series, based upon the things that I felt touched my life more than others, and I found them all engaging as well as informative and enlightening.
I admit that reading these books does indeed help me to gather my collective thoughts and oftentimes help me get through my day. They are indeed chicken soup for my soul.
The original book was born out of the stories that the book’s author, Jack Canfield and his friend, Mark Victor Hansen, used in motivational speeches around the country. Canfield especially was constantly asked if a number of his stories were written down in a book somewhere so that someone else could read them. That’s when the idea for the book struck him. Mark Victor Hansen added the final 26 stories to the original book, and the next step was publishing.
The stories in this book are inspirational in so many ways. Whatever your problem may be, there is a story to help inspire and motivate you, and some well-known motivational speakers such as Deepak Chopra, Anthony Robbins, and Mehmet Oz have contributed new stories to this 20th Anniversary Edition, making it even better than the original!
My personal favorite story was a short, two-page story from Price Pritchett called “Try Something Different” which talks about a fly in the window of a motel room. I know what you’re thinking, “What kind of inspiration could you possible get from watching a fly in the window of a motel?” All I am going to say is you just need to read the book to find out. It was eye opening, let me tell you. This is just one example of the many inspiring and motivating stories that appear in this wonderful book. If you have not given Chicken Soup for the Soul a good look, then it is time you should. You will find yourself happier and well motivated in your own life!
