Songs That Rock ~

Do you have those days when you just feel…blah? I know I do! What do you do when you feel that way? For me, the biggest energy boost comes from music! I don’t have one set of FAVORITE songs that rock, though I am partial to music by Fleetwood Mac, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard, Eric Church, Jason Aldean and a few others. I love all kinds of music but here is a sampling of some songs that rock that have been floating around in my head today that I just LOVE. :)

Songs That Rock

Kenny Chesney: I Go Back
This is a song that always makes me feel good. I have seen him in concert several times and it is always a fun, energetic time. This guy definitely deserves all the success that he has had over the years. Love, love, love him!

Tim McGraw: Maybe We Should Just Sleep On It
I think that no matter what Tim McGraw comes out with, this may always be my favorite. It always takes me back to the summer I bought this CD {one of my very first CDs} and played it and played it and played it until the people in my apartment complex wanted to kill me. By “apartment complex” I mean one crappy room. I was 18 and I had my own apartment room and it rocked!

Def Leppard: Pour Some Sugar On Me
Um, who doesn’t like this song? Whether you like “hair bands” or not, you KNOW you like this song. :) I have no idea what they are saying in part of the song {perhaps that is for the best} but that never stops me from singing what I know – and making up something for the rest. :D

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Workin’ For MCA
OH MY GOSH!!! This song rocks! I got to see Lynyrd Skynyrd a few years ago in concert and I thought I was going to explode – I was so excited. This is probably my all time favorite band! I never get tired of them!

I have tons of more songs that I think that rock, but these just happened to be on my mind. :)

  1. Bruce Springsteen is one of my husband’s favorite artists, but I’ve never been much of a fan. However, we went to see him live on Dec. 6th – I was perhaps the only person there seeing him for the first time. NOW I get what all the fuss is about. Talk about energy! It was incredible. I’ve got new enthusiasm for his songs, to be sure. Great post!

  2. I’m a big music lover too! I have a playlist for just about everything, but my all time favorite song, and this may not “rock”, is Garth Brooks “Friends In Low Places” the extended version. My mom got me hooked on Garth when i was about 10 and I just couldn’t stop listening to him, so sad that he retired :(

My daugher and I listen to One Republic’s Everybody Loves Me for fun, but I love his Come Home. Florence and the Machines Shake It Up is fun. I’ve been listening to The National’s Terrible Love lately. Sisters Of Mercy’s Some Kind of Stranger makes me cry even after 25 years. As do HIM’s The Sacrement and and an untitled track by AFI.. Tori Amos’ Rasberry Swirl makes want to dance, as does almost anything by The Cult. And I love Wayne Hussey’s voice of the Mission. Jim Morrison is my 1st love. I kind of like music. (Oh, you really don’t want to know Pour Some Sugar On Me means.)

  5. There are too many to count. I have to say lately, the Black Keys have been very energizing. I love anything with a good beat. I don’t know much country so I can’t say I know the songs above but I know that U2, Dave Matthews Band, and anything that can just keep me going is good in my book!
