Gorton’s Fisherman’s Spicy Cajun Grilled Fillet Stew ~

I was looking around on Gorton’s website to find something different to make for dinner and I ran across Gorton’s Fisherman’s Spicy Cajun Grilled Fillet Stew. It is such a great time of the year for soups and stews, isn’t it? Also, my family loves anything that is spicy. We also really enjoy seafood. So this recipe sounds like a win win to me!

Eating seafood twice a week is a part of a healthy diet. Eating fish {which contains omega-3 fatty acids}..

  • Promotes heart health
  • Decreases blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol levels
  • Improves arthritis symptoms and helps to relieve joint pain
  • Lessens symptoms of depression and ADHD
  • Supports eye health
  • Enhances brain growth and development
  • Decreases the risk for certain types of cancers
  • Reduces the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease

Fisherman’s Spicy Cajun Grilled Fillet Stew

INGREDIENTS:

4 Gorton’s All Natural Cajun Grilled Fillets {we substituted regular fillets and added our own cajun seasoning}
2 Tbsp vegetable or olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 carrot, diced
1 clove large clove garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) can no-salt tomato sauce
1-1/2 cups dry white wine or tomato juice
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 1 bay leaf

NOTES: Add another element of flavor by substituting with our Tilapia Roasted Garlic & Butter Grilled Fillets and 1 Tbsp of Cajun seasoning!

DIRECTIONS:

1. Heat oil over medium heat in a large non-stick skillet for 2 minutes and sauté onions, green peppers, carrots and garlic for 5 minutes.

2. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium, add Gorton’s All Natural Cajun Grilled Fillets, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Break fish apart, stir, simmer 5 minutes, stir and serve immediately.

  13. this looks good. I am not a fish person at all. And of course since I cook for the family we dont’ eat mush fish. This looks like it could help mask the taste so then I would eat it.
